Need to have a closer look, but not sure I see much value there. Then again, I guess that's to be expected.

Anyone had a look at this? Cant see them online.

Recent history tells us that actions always speak louder than words in these scenarios. We wait and see. Not a dig, just a realistic appraisal of the situation.

Think Calscot is taking the reasonable and common sense approach. I don't agree with everything Smith does and don't understand some of his decisions. But then that's been the case with every manager i've witnessed to a greater or lesser extent. There are definite question marks over the man. If he doesn't deliver a league title this year even the less militant of fans will be asking questions. For a manager who is one course for a treble, potentially winning 5 trophies and reaching a European final in his first 2 (full) seasons, I think he deserves more backing. For now.....

Wanted: wealthy buyer to re-invigorate Rangers

Best laugh i've had in a while. -
A bit harsh on Kirk maybe, but valid none the less I think. In debating 4-5-1 v 4-4-2 someone pointed out the former got a better result than the latter in the last 2 meetings. But it's not a fair comparison when such a key player (my POTY) in a key position was not playing.
-
Even if having McCulloch unavailable would be enough to prevent 4-5-1, I would not be so crass as to not wish him well. I just don't believe, never have, most probably never will, that 4-5-1 makes the most of our attacking options our midfield or their deficiencies and I think the last game demonstrated that. We made more decent opportunities with the 4-4-2 and thinking back on it, had Bougherra been fit we would unlikely have conceded the goal we did. 4-4-2 for this bear, but no doubt even if Big Lee doesn't make it, Edu or another will be drafted in.
-
Be good to get Nacho back. Just because McCulloch is unavailable does not necessarily mean Walter will avoid 4-5-1 does it???

I want Fergie to get the better of Mourinho. But not sure I want an English team progressing.:box:

I thought it might be having the match delegate listen out for both sets of fans being abusive when Rangers are playing.

Ronaldo doesn't bother me too much. I've said it before, but a large part of the reason he gets a hard time is that theEnglish tried to scape-goat him for Rooney stamping on Carvalho's nuts. Gerrard on the other hand really pisses me off because nothing is said about his continual and disgraceful diving. Worse than any foreigner in the English leagues and it goes unmentioned.

Quite agree with this. I in no way think Walter is such a "weak" manager that he picks teams on fan pressure and think that is borne out by the evidence of his time at the club. Would like to see more of the positivity and the pro-Rangers stance evident in your subsequent post from the rest of us.

Is that aimed at me? Seeing as I brought into question the team's bottle. From the match thread: It was the players bottle I was questioning in that instance (the questioning of the managers bottle came elsewhere in reference to the negative approach against an out of sorts Celtic). We have repeatedly over the last 3 years had the chance to go top or pressure Celtic, and consistently thrown those chances away. Going1-0 downa t home to Killie after 20 mins I think I was quite right to ask if we had the bottle. The following day I wrote a piece suggestinng the team were finally answering those questions. The comments in the killie match thread were about the players not the management team in any case. And I maintain the approach to the Old Firm match lacked bottle, a winning mentality or a killer instinct. The fact that it has worked out well for us now, does not alter the fact it could have been better (or admittedly worse).

I think it's in there with the "you gotta be in it to win it" line of thinking. Good luck to you.... and Rangers. Hope you get an interesting and sincere response and if he signs maybe a claim to fame or your cut of the deal.

I am unsure how seriously the club would look at something like this. If it was found out they did there'd be a thousand emails a day from Tims at the wind up. Hopefully it gets a positive response. As you no doubt will understand it's not a name familiar to the UK fans (well at leas one's like myself). I don't seem to catch as much Dutch footy as I would like. So it is always good to hear of affordable prospects from leagues we do not get to see on a regular basis. I probably don't need to say this, but less us know if you hear back.

Father Time is one of the various nicknames I (affectionately) refer to him as. Another one being Old Man River. No harm to him, just a wee joke. Anyone else the same.

Agree about Webster Craig, IF he can find form he could possibly even be Bougherra's partner. If I was Weir then I'd play for £2k a week. My career's all but done but there's still a chance to play and wion silverware with my boyhood heroes. The reality of living the life of a professional footballer, though, is no doubt far different from what fans expect and hence his outlook may be different. I still think he has something to offer, but fully understand the view point ofthose who want to say thanks for a job well done.
-
Pay as you play deal maybe? Again though Weir might wish more financial security. If you consider a squad to have 2 players for every position (approximately), four CB's of: First choice: Bougherra New Signing Back ups: Wilson (if good enough?) Weir Looks good to me. Papac is never a CB for the SPL imo, but has been transformed into a decent LB and is the position I consider him to play. Broadfoot is similar, though may yet still develop into a reasonable CB.
-
Didn't really consider Weir's views right enough. At his age it's about getting games while he still can so I agree he will unlikely be hapy to be used in a back up role. Though he is a self-confessed fan and may stay just to get another 10-15 games for the Gers and a final shot at silverware.
-
I'm sure most don't fancy him for next season. Was reading a debate where most where almsot suicidal at the prospect of him starting next year. This was stimulated from a quote from Weir saying his isn't retiring. My own view is I would keep him as third choice behind Bougherra and a new signing. Experience could be vital in the team and even in the squad when not playing and he might also prove an excellent coach to Wilson and any new signings as he did to Boogie/Cuellar. I don't expect any to meet with approval the thought of him being first choice next year. But does anyone else see room for him in the squad?

(For anyone who doesn't have a sick snense of humour, it's not PO'D i'm mocking but Celtic's unscrupulous behaviour.)
-
Teach me to try and be "funny".
-
That last suggestion is a belter!

 Surely Celtic aren't that manipulative are they? Phil O'Donnel might be able to answer that one.
