Well they've not been getting them recently and suddenly there form is less than impressive.

Cheers, good to have someone on board who can quickly answer these questions. Accounting goes right over my head.

It certainly appears we are more reliant on CL finances and missing out on the approximate £10million or so is more damaging to us than it is to them.
-
What is the debt, I didn't see that in the article?
-
As always, the partipation or non-participation in CL football is key. This highlights the huge importance of winning the league and earning a CL place. Financial and on field results are obviously linked. If we continue trail behind in terms of football results, Celtic's associated superior financial results will put them in a position to streak further ahead until we cannot compete. It's a vicious circle.

I didn't see them struggling with their conscience much when they sent us to Pittodrie again in previous seasons. And where were the claims of a "tainted" title last year. Only when we win anything do they like to complain about such issues. Hopefully there will be plenty of complaints come May.

Gersnet Nominated for Football Pools Fanzine Awards

Most arrogant bassa surely? (And that was me trying to tone down the arrogance. ) -
SPL making a rod for their own back? How can they have Celtic play 20 at home and us 20 away. If they have to go back to Fir Park, so what. As the article states, we've been fucked over twice in the past. It's their turn. And no doubt they'd win the game anyway.

Speirs making factual inaccuracies?

A large build and a lack of explosive pace led to accusations of being fat and unfit. Unfortunately the lack of pace is likely to prevent him from playing at the highest levels.

What am I being nominated for? -
The sort of player you want to see play the game. I thought he had retired already . That was til I saw him the other night.

Ha ha. Sorry remove the offending posts now. Was to lazy to open up a PM. Given one of my recent threads that may not suprise too many of you. -
I think we will. But then I always do.

In the words of Borat "v. nice" "I like very much".
-
Cracking effort. Why does he always do that when he's on loan.

First category should be "print" not "online" in your post Frankie. Remove this post when you edit it. -
Wearing another man's used undergarments? If it works, it works. Good luck to him.
-
Right now I really am lost. Lol.
-
Lol, being slow there. Yeh he's bagged a few doubles right enough. I kinda understand the arguement from his recent form. I guess the bookies want to avoid a potential hiding in case he plays like he has in the last couple (in goalscoring form anyway). Realistically though, looking back through his career, there is absolutely no value in that bet imo. An absolute honker.
-
I'm assuming both were in his first spell correct. Or has my dislike of the player (for his abilities not for the man) caused me to forget a more recent 3-goal salvo? Although I did not closely follow his career down south I do not remember any for Wolves or Derby, nor for Celtic for that matter. Though I may have missed them. I know he has not scored any for Scotland. Not saying number of hat tricks scored is any kind of measure of a striker (only to be used for the really prolific ones like Boyd ) just trying to understand where the bookies are coming from? Mind you the bookies are tight bastards these days. Hard to find the value.

Can't disagree with that. And so perhaps a lot ire can be directed at Murray for a run of 2 out of the last 8 titles. Smith however, is in competition for only his second title. Fate, the SPL, fixture congestion and Walter himself all cost us in his first assualt. However, come the end of this year he could have won 5 out of a possible 6 trophies with a European final to boot. As it is Walter that this thread is about, declaring results is all I am interested in is, to my mind, a legitimate "defence" of Smith. Can Smith be blamed for for PLG and Eck losing the previous 2 titles?

I am obviously aware of Miller's 5 goal game for Rangers. Has he score (m)any other hattricks?

I think sometimes people forget that sport is about winning first and foremost and looking pretty while doing it comes a distant second. I still believe fully that this want for pretty football at the expense of results is a symptom of the sky/tv generation (says a youngster himself) and is ruining the game. Win first, win second, win third. After that, if you're good enough do it with total football. I know many will disagree but I leave Ibrox happier when we've won than when we played nice footy but didn't win. Yes, both could/should be achievable, but i'll still take the winning first.

I stopped reading his post after 2-3 paragraphs tbh. Some posters are more negative than others, fair enough. Boring palce if we all agreed all the time etc etc. The reality, though, is that sometimes a team of lesser quality must utilise defensive tactics to oust a team of greater quality. Do you not see the reaction of the "wee teams" when they come to Ibrox and get a result? In cup competition and at the elite level, sometimes the end does jsutify the means. If you didn't enjoy all that Cammy said above your probably watching the wrong sport. We all would like Rangers to have the best players in the world, play the best football, make the Champions League latter stages on a regular basis and steam roller quality opposition. The reality for a team from Scotland is that that is no longer possible. If you can't enjoy reaching our first European final in my life time, or in decades, what can you enjoy? Edit: Ps That's not to say we should not aspire to the above, but at the same time we should not write off tremendous achievements.
