  1. Davis has more than enough to worry about with his own performances never mind captaincy so as Zappa suggested it might help him. Though would he see it as a snub and would it hurt him and his attitude?
  2. Does Davis just automatically assume the role when Weir leaves this week then?
  3. He doesn't appear to be first choice for left wing. Now this may be that Coisty is playing him right due to a lack of options there as opposed to not fancying him for the left. However, it does appear that Wallace is first choice for left mid with Naisy when fit the first choice playing from the right. When everyone is fit he might struggle to get a start. Hence why I wouldn't cry myself to sleep if he wasn't signed on permanently in the summer.
  4. FWIW, he probably wouldn't start if everyone was fit.
  5. TV rights are shared between all the clubs. So the pittance Celtic would make in a foreign market (if at all) would benefit all clubs. Also aren't most shirts in Asia fakes therefore it is unlikely significant sales would be made there.
  6. Dont think even that would make a difference. Dont honestly believe all the Asian signings Celtic have made has made them any real money.
  7. Thats my point. I've not been scathing of him. I would even be happy enough if he was retained in the summer. I just said I wouldn't be bothered if we didn't. Needs to work on his decision making. Needs to learn to use his right foot more, particularly if we're going to deploy him on the right (not his fault). He is deceptively strong for a guy of his physique.
  8. I honestly dont think he has anything that special. Compared to the rest of our current team (Naismith aside) maybe. But we had Weiss last year who could do a similar job. Also didn't have any impact in the OF. And before anyone points out neither did the rest of the team, we're discussing Aluko and in the big game he failed to create or trouble the oppositions defence. I dont think Aluko is that good at what he does that it would be hard to replace. As I say, only losing Naismith would really bother me and to a lesser degree Jelavic although he needs to show more of his true quality.
  9. It is also pretty well known that Murray was happy to back PLG if he was happy to commit to the club. PLG was not, hence why lose your captain and best player as well as your manager? Makes no sense.
  10. I think its clear there are definitely negative aspersions being cast as to why McKay isn't getting a change as opposed to why is he not doing enough to earn a chance which is equally as probable though a less appealing theory to the fans for some reason.
  11. Who do you think?
  12. Wouldnt bother my arse if we didn't sign him long term. Only player in the squad I would be unduly upset if he left is Naismith. Even though he is injured. Jela I expect to go at some point (preferably not Jan), but much like Davis he isn't producing the quality we know he has. At least Jela is scoring though. Oh, forgot McGregor. Wouldn't want him leaving.
  13. What has Jeff Winter done?
  14. There's more accusations that the management team are "at fault" than a discussion of what is going on. I mean calling the club unprofessional for not playing a specific player is a bit daft. Thats not discussion, thats taking a side and accusing the club of something you couldn't possibly know about. Its a daft conspiracy theory really.
  15. I was being facetious. I knwo what you meant. It's just frustrating (galling) that the assumption is that the lack of professionalism is always on the side of the manager and coaching staff and never the fault of the purportedly slighted player. No one considers that perhaps McKay is to blame here.
  16. The crux of the issue and far more important than whether an individual is getting a fair go. Also appears there's no point to training as you cant distinguish between anyone's form, attitude, ability etc. May as well pick the team with a tombola.
  17. You mean the player is being unprofessional by not showing enough in training?
  18. There's one. IS he better than what we have out on the pitch? And poor as the first choice appear to be the manager's view must be no.
  19. Are you comparin Miller's years there as a teenager to Boyd's? Even prolific players tend to have a lower scoring rate in their earlier years due to still learning their trade, maturing into a first team player from a youth and not starting as many games. I dont think goals/year is a useful stat for players.
  20. Dont always see why there needs to be a conspiracy theory or some underhand reason for players not getting games. Most likely reason is others are training better and although some individual performances in games are poor McKay is not showing the manager enough in training to suggest he would be a better option.
  21. And the truth comes out.
  22. Yep, you have a point actually. Whilst BD's post referred to the programme being from '03 he didn't link that to "campaign" suggested by others and refuted by you starting much after this point. I made that connection in my head but it may not have been intended by BD and hence not assumed by yourself. And admittedly Frankie posted after your initial response.
  23. Thats at least 3 times thats been proposed to danny but he doesnt seem to like that or accept it as he's not responded to that point. Entire premise of the thread is fallacious because of this.
