Has it? And did these accusations start around the same time as Blue Heaven was made? Just a thought.

Yet everyone can use hun with impunity.

Thought I heard 2 in the commentary today. Aside from today and the other week I cant remember the others.
-
Not seen this one yet. Was watching ours. But Boca's yellow for winning the ball was a joke.
-
That was part joke, part question. As I said, being cup tied for Europe is something teams consider seriously and dramatically reduces a player's value in the eyes of the buying club. Whether or not the heirarchy of the club feel the same about domestic cup ties I have no idea. Good point about valuations comparing Miller and Sandaza. I do think Sandaza would be a useful body to have in the squad, hopefully to support or back up Jela. I actually haven't seen any mooted transfer values?
-
Ha, I guess. Down about a fiver? I know it often plays in to teams strategies when playing European football but I dont know if its much of a consideration for domestic cup football?
-
Bar a player or two either way that's probably not far off. Although they perhaps have a player or two more who might be considered creative both teams have a lack of real quality there. An on form Davis or Jelavic aside both teams have average at best players in those roles. Oh, if you're counting the injured Kayal in their list Naisy should be in ours.
-
Cant speak for gers4life, but I know what danny meant and still disagree. I think Naismith is more important to us than Kayal is to them. Probably three things contribute to this: 1 - Naisy is a better player, hence harder to replace. 2 - Naismith was integral to the way we play(ed). 3 - They have a bigger (stronger?) squad and are more able to replace kayal.
-
Even if he was their most important player I dont think he'd be anywhere near as important to them as Naisy is to us.

Scored again today. Ok v Brechin. Think Jeff said 13th of the season and 5 in his last 4. Something like that. Sandaza btw. Still not convinced we have genuine interest in him

I know it wont go down well with many fans who cant abide us signing SPL players, but I would be pretty happy getting in Driver, Templeton and even Sandaza tbh. Templeton and Driver with just wages to pay and Sandaza pretty cheap? We need some creativity and chance created. Templeton and Driver can both be direct and Sandaza whilst not a fantastic player (perhaps in some ways reminscent of a Berbatov type player; better on the floor with good feet for a lanky looking player who lacks in work rate) would not be a bad option up front. Right now we only have Jela (until he's maybe sold), Healy, Fleck and Laffs in a number of weeks time. Would give our squad a few more bodies, some creativity and options in forward areas. Shame it's probably all bs.

Not a chance.

Depends on the PT. I work as a personal trainer mostly at the moment but still hope to work in strength and conditioning full time. Be that in football or whatever other sport. The quality amongst PTs is massively erratic. I would go as far to say that most are shite and dont have a clue about training for performance. Unfortunately (for me anyway) people working in sport as an S+C coach (what Broadfoot should have been using, maybe he was?) have very little time for PTs. That aside though, I do agree with the main thrust of your point here. Just pointing out, from personal experience, most PTs wouldn't have a clue how to train properly for football and unless we know anything about the specific trainer KB used we don't know if it was sensible move. It does though, show a real commitment to his game and to improving himself.

Muddies the water some more.

No chance.

Blame Gav not Zappa, he started it.

That sounds like a twee idea to me. Their professional footballers. Professional sports people often don't get to celebtrate NY or xmas like we do. Perhaps they were both carrying knocks that meant they didn't train. But i'd be surprised if they missed training for a party. It may be something less sinister than joining another team but I dont think its because of their social calendar.

I'm wondering if you picked me up wrong/I used an ambiguous phrase hence leading to some confusion? I dont mean "appreciate it" as in enjoy it. That phrase can be used in place of "understanding" something. Anything else in the ensuing argument is irrelevant to what I was debating. I dont disagree we should be seeing a better standard of football. All i'm saying is it is futile to complain about the manager or player's quotes being lifted by the press.
-
I dont get your post no. 11 where you appeared to be suggesting that you don't get it? The only thing I have been arguing against in this thread is that it is stupid to complain about club employees doing something they have to do (i.e. talk to the press). Complaining about what they say is maybe a different matter, but complaining that they say anything to the press makes no sense and it gets tiresome reading people arguing against it every time one of our employees being quoted in the paper. The other thing is that much of what is said is said at a club press conference and that a lot of interviews are required as part of media commitments for being part of the SPL and SFA competitions. So they're not even necessarily talking directly to journalists who are lifting the quotes. If he didn't say anything at all people would complain as well. Can't win on that one.
-
Can you genuinely not see how stupid that is? McCoist, McCulloch and anyone else who gets grief for this are not going around chasing journalists to have their thoughts published because they like they sound of their own voice. They are fulfilling part of their job for which they are paid by the club. It is genuinely bordering on moronic not to get this. Complaining about what they say I can, to some extent, understand (though as Danny says they're just saying the right things in the press and probably something quite different in private). But to complain that they are talking to the press at all is idiotic. He doesn't have a choice, the club has media commitments we must fulfill.
-
Is he just supposed to do a retarded Scott Brown style no comment interview. The managers and players have media commitments to complete and dont go out seeking journo's to transcribe their thoughts. When will people start to appreciate this?
-
Shouldn't have gotten my views on SD to get caught up in this. I'm not really a fan of the concept at all but should have kept that for another thread. So apologies for that. Maybe it's because I have been in a couple of fights and been attacked before but I do get really wound up by people sitting safely on their sofas saying he took it too far. Also seems people are more concered for the safety of the attacker then that of the victim. I'm sorry but if you start a fight and come off second best then tough shit. I'm not a fighter by nature, dont want people getting the wrong idea there. I dont start fights but have had numerous people start on me, perils of a typical night out in the UK and probably no doubt elsewhere. Too easy to say what is excessive force when you are not the one on the receiving end. To be fair I also didn't see that you were commenting on your perspective as a referee before some of those replies. Dont always read an entire thread before replying to a post. So in that context it is correct the ref would card him by the laws of the game. But it is a bs law that needs changing.
-
As many as is necessary is not excessive. Is there anything in this country's laws specifically about how many strikes you are allowed to defend yourself? No. Stupid point as every situation is different.
-
I would defend your right to give him a hiding and ensure he didn't have the opportunity to hit you again. If he ends up hurt well tough shit mate for assaulting someone else. So yeh, in my opinion you would be right.
-
Must be nice to have lived your life where you've never been in a fight. The guy was on the floor, but if you don't take it "too far" as some seem to think he did, the guy would get up and continue his assault. The keeper needed to take it further and deter the guy from his continued assault.
