We pay a lot of money for MH so I hope we'll start using their advice more effectively than in previous years. (Thanks to FF for the scans) -

Can't say I know much about him but he certainly seems more than capable of fitting into our team. -

Cool - so you go back on the Sunday?

Nae chance of me paying a a score for a friendly! I'll be happy with going to Penicuik the day before for the under 19s game. You fancy that mate?
-
I agree with this. Papac is reliable and I'd find it difficult to drop him generally. However, sometimes his contribution does drop so someone like Lee Wallace (at the right price) would provide good competition - as opposed to moving Whittaker or Broadfoot to left-back.
-
Bougherra isn't going to be here in the long term so I'm cynical as to what his attitude will be like this season. I'd rather play guys who are committed to the club. Edu had a nightmare season last year but I still think the lad has the potential to be an important player. McCulloch isn't getting any younger while I'd say Ness and Hutton are still a bit raw to be first picks. Ortiz can play anywhere in the wider roles on either side - full-back or further forward. Would make for a very fluid right flank as he and Whittaker could constantly swap positions easily.
-
Yeah, I was pretty critical of the lad for long periods last season. Rightly so in my opinion as when on form and playing with the correct attitude, he's a tremendous midfielder - hard-working, tenacious, creative and dominant. However, if he slacks off then he becomes anonymous and struggle to influence games enough without him. The last 5 or 6 games he really got his act together but to be fair to him he wasn't the only midfielder that struggled with Edu and Naismith also off form early in the New Year in particular.
-
I would like something along these lines: :sw: :cc: :kbartley: :sp: :jmo: :sd: :me: :sn: :nj: :kl: While I'd be just as comfortable with Bougherra and Weir in central defence (and perhaps McCulloch in centre midfield) the above pairing would be ideal in my opinion.

Enjoyed that from Leggo - one of his better articles of late.

This looks superb - will be buying and reviewing it early next week with a bit of luck.

No chance of us re-signing Barry Ferguson.
