Yeah, seems to be 2pm so why not check into the hotel afterwards? Or do they sort out your hire car etc? Pencuik is only about 20min drive from the airport.
-
I think I might take in the game at Pencuik a week on Saturday...

Official: Juan Manuel Ortiz a Rangers player

Clearly we need to sort out the central defensive situation. As it stands Weir and Bougherra look our likely pairing for the start of the season but they'll need to be replaced sooner rather than later. -

Apparently the deal has been agreed with player - club just awaiting paperwork to complete it. Press conference later today possibly. -
Fella on Twitter has just messaged me to say his cousin has just seen Kenny Miller at the airport with a Rangers official...

Not confirmed officially yet mate. -
Clyde just take their stuff from the Daily Record. Signing hasn't been confirmed officially yet.
-
Only pullin' yer leg boss. Meant to text you last night but ended up on the Becks Fusion so kind of forgot as we lazed in the sun. Glad you had a good time!
-
Yeah, we should wait until they are confirmed but all three deals seem to be closer than any other link so far this summer. As ever we'll wait and see.

Have I been sacked as taxi driver?
-
Usually not until at least September. Not sure if the late interims will affect the release also. Will certainly be as interesting as they've ever been. Let's hope we have more CL football to aid the improvement!

Ibrox Suite, Sunday 24 July 2011. 11am-1pm. Our last meeting on 1st May was very well attended and received and the feedback we got was very positive. As indicated at that time, we are calling another meeting for the first weekend of the new season, and we are hoping that the timescale will be helpful to bears from further afield to attend who wish to. We have had many meetings as a working group since the last meeting, and we have quite a lot to update you on regarding events both at the club and elsewhere. As before, we would be delighted if you could attend, but we again are expecting a large turnout so we must restrict numbers to 2 from each RSC or fans group. Please send a reply to secretary@nithsdaleloyal.com to book your place and we look forward to seeing you on the 24th July. Regards Nithsdale Loyal RSC

Just about to post something similar on Twitter about that aspect. The money is important but our ambitions must match theirs also.
-
Fair points mate. This is good news and a signal of intent from the new owner. Let's hope these investments are the first of many while retaining the prudence required to avoid financial problems down the line.
-
Has signed new 5 year deal.
-
Club have confirmed this and the Whittaker deal. Press conference at 1pm.

Of course we could cash in but whose to say all that money would be reinvested into the club in any case? Add in the risk of a new goalkeeper then I don't think it's as simple as saying sell and we profit hugely. Sure, it makes sense to move players on to keep the money flowing but sometimes re-signing your better players is the equivalent of making a big-money purchase and spreading the payments over the term of the contract. Yes, this holds an element of risk as well (injury, loss of form, loss of value, age etc) but I'm reasonably comfortable with holding onto McGregor at an acceptable cost. It also shows the rest of the squad what a consistent run of form could realise them in future years.
-
Absolutely Cal. Which makes our youth and scouting systems all the more important to have operating well. With the arena we currently operate in, they are the keys to our successful future.
-
Mate, some of the sums involved for playing a game really are quite unhealthy but c'est la vie. Take up darts is what I say!
-
I think we would all like that. Problem is you're talking at least £6million to sign 3 players of a 'first XI quality' status. Sure, there are bargains to be had (see the likes of Papac and Kayal if you scout imaginatively) but generally once you factor in the costs of resigning players on improved contracts; how much money is realistically left? If we can secure CL group stage football in August then perhaps we'll see more money spent. Until then (and with the tax case still hovering over us) we'll need to be reliant on loans and Bosmans.
-
In the real world no player is worth that. Football isn't the real world. As for the cost, well £26K x 52 x 6 = £8.1million. A lot of money. However, what we have is a first class 'keeper tied down long term with a large fee on his head should interest increase in him. Could we guarantee a better 'keeper if we sold him? After all says a £4million fee with £13K per week wages for 6 years also comes to £8million.
