  1. Just to make my own opinion clear. I'm as confused as anyone regarding the coverage about the financial problems at our club. I'm also disappointed in the tactics used by those interested in buying to stir the pot without showing how their strategy would be a better one. By the same token, I'm puzzled as to why the club don't already have agreed strategies ready to kick in under certain conditions - e.g. CL qualification, player sales, agreed income etc. As such, I'm reluctant to take any 'side' in this debate due to the appalling lack of clarity and leadership from all involved. However, once again, I'm inclined to examine Walter Smith's comments and I continue to question the involvement of MIH and Lloyds Bank with regard to investment into Rangers football club. Because I intend to renew my season ticket this week for next season and any agreed meeting between the club and the bank conveniently falls after the renewal deadline, I feel one way of applying my discomfort is to protest. As such, I will be renewing my season ticket this week but I will also back any protest against Lloyds Bank next week.

As coincidence would have it, the Lloyds Banking Group - who this week reported an unexpected surge in profits since being bailed out by the tax-payer - have their AGM next week in Edinburgh. Whilst Rangers fans cannot gain entry to the event, a protest outside the Edinburgh International Conference Centre may take place as the AGM is held next Thursday at 11am. Once again Gersnet asks, would you take part in such a protest?
  3. Reading between the lines, King is suggesting his source will welcome new protests against Lloyds... Probably at their AGM next Thursday in Edinburgh...

  9. The season ticket income will be, as usual, put towards our annual ongoing costs. The debt repayment schedule has been agreed so it is unlikely this will change the destination of that tranche of funds. Of course part of the CL income (if Celtic don't qualify for the Group Stage) may be ring-fenced to make a one-off payment towards the debt and I doubt many bears would be overly surprised by that given the importance of such money when coupled with our year-on-year financial position. The only time the support may be frustrated by money not going to the club is if/when we sell any players. That money must be re-invested into the team - although again, I wouldn't be averse to ring-fencing some for future activities. Have Dave King or Douglas Park outlined their own ability to improve on that strategy?
  10. The Rangers Press Office are often helpful but are unlikely to be forthcoming on issues that their bosses have determined no-go areas.
  11. Vote for your Scottish Goal of the Season: http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11781_6121205,00.html No idea how the Boyd free-kick got in there... I'll opt for Bougherra's against Utd but Boyd's third in the same game was actually the best goal of the campaign in my book.
  12. I think Smith (or Bain) has already said the loan-back thing isn't an option... Wilson is a fantastic talent but if he doesn't want to stay, then accept a good offer (several teams are interested so the price should be good) and ensure the income is used to buy another defender. Not ideal in terms of continuity but C'est la vie
  13. Problem is - we can't make players sign new contracts if they don't want to. Of course we should try our very best to ensure they stay by offering competitive (though affordable) contracts and ensuring the organisation of the club isn't as chaotic as it is now but if a player wants to leave, then they'll leave. As such, IF the story is true, we should now sell him for as much money as we can to ensure we have a suitable replacement.
  14. Hopefully the article will mean Rangers refuse the friendly...
  15. More like 300...
  16. I think it is fair to say the Murray era has been one of boom and bust. He'll point to continued success despite our financial problems but his critics will point to his lack of vision when he talked about ambition in the first half of his tenure. The truth lies somewhere in the middle but there's no doubt the last decade has caused more problems than offering solutions. Essentially the question is are Rangers a better club than they were in 1988? I don't think anyone can say 'yes' with any great certainty. That simple conclusion in itself should hurt SDM more than anything else.
  17. Umbro are responsible for distribution outside the UK...
  18. I've enjoyed many games this season - both with some superb football and with some not to fluent stuff. David Weir is a fantastic player to watch - calm, composed, reads the game well and his positioning second to none. However, he's a defender and has little flair. Dos that mean he's not worth watching?
  19. I'm not a gambler I'm afraid so I'll stick with the tried and trusted for the moment...
  20. Ouch missed that rather important typo! Can't get the staff nowadays!
  21. It isn't only FF that are criticising Darrell King. However, I don't think many bears would seriously suggest he was anti-Rangers as opposed to failing to offer a wholly balanced version of events. Much of his information - apparently from a RFC board member - seems correct but the whole story is certainly not available for the reader to digest. The most interesting aspect I took from the article is that King is admitting he was wrong to go on about £100million+ debts as he enjoyed the company of Guidi et al on Sunday evening.
