  1. I don't think that's an unreasonable take on events.. All the more reason why the questions aimed at Muir are relevant to Murray by proxy.
  2. Watch out, he'll fling you out...
  3. I thought the protests - while directed at Muir primarily - are, by direct association, linked to Sir David Murray. After all, Muir is a director placed on the board of Rangers FC and MIH at the behest of Murray so the same questions asked of Muir can be asked of our owner - estranged or not. We can also be certain the owner knows exactly what is happening with regard to these questions and the subsequent behaviour of those who have undermined the ones asking them so reasonably. Be assured, there will be no one happier than him at the further division being exploited and maintained by people in positions of responsibility.
  4. We have Maineflyer as bouncer... :box:
  5. Just reading some more of the claims about former Trust board members on FF by MD. To say they are ludicrous lies is an understatement. Bizarre nonsense about people going on about property and heroin dealing? Eh? I've seen a few people mention the property thing but it certainly isn't former Trust board members and to suggest so is bizarre. As for the claims about the character of those meeting with the club; well that is also tripe. No idea what the poster hopes to gain from this but the credibility of himself and the RST is going down the toilet.
  6. I don't think any of the protagonists over the last few days have any chance of sitting at the top table.
  7. I agree with that mate - I've asked for clarity and leadership from all involved. From the chairman of the club, to the team manager, to the fan groups, to the potential buyers. Contacts isn't excused from that criticism just because I may be friendly with him. The problem we have is that we have to distinctly different viewpoints: 1. Everything is extremely bad and the club is in danger - Walter Smith alluded to this, fan leaders had said similar, potential buyers are provoking more rumours and people are rightly asking for clarity as a result. 2. Meanwhile, the other 'camp' are suggesting things might not be so bad - financial performance is improving, players haven't been sold, manager is only worried about future signing quality and they're asking for similar clarity - although are more conservative in their plea. Thus, while there may be two points of view, there isn't a big difference between them so the efforts by both to discredit each other are extremely counter-productive. The only way out of this vicious circle is if someone starts leading from the front. Unfortunately, no fan leader seems to want to take charge. No buyer wants to stand up. The manager has went quiet. This only leads to further division. We're just lucky the team is still winning as if they weren't I dread to think what would be happening.
  8. "I don't speak French..." Generic girl group - 2009
  9. Excellent initial post mate - fancy expanding upon it for a nice, neutral article on the subject?
  10. I think that's why they've tried to do via the article. I'd question the method but not the person's intentions. Same goes for other people who have posted information in good faith from other 'sources'...
  11. Almost forgot but a salient point in this whole debate is that I believe the editor of FF posted the other day about he and a prominent TBO member were invited to meet Donald Muir but turned this down. Why would they do that when they clearly have a lot of questions for the man? Because they were asked to keep such a meeting secret or the contents private? Perhaps I suppose but similar meetings have occurred between the club and such people in the past. Eventually the information filters out even if the meeting is private or minuted generically. However, if the offer was genuine, then why wait until contacts' posts his article before speaking about it? Surely Muir's alleged possible demand for secrecy would be the ideal stick to beat him with when supplying reasons for asking the support to buy into this (still reasonable) clarity request. Found that a bit strange but the club's activities aren't the only ones that are as clear as mud. Many have a part to blame in the misinformation, rumour-mongering and name-calling we've seen of late. Ergo, if contacts is to be villified for posting about sources and releasing unsubstantiated info while changing his mind; then I'm sure Barry221 will be eager to right another piece (or 5) on other key figures in the debate.
  12. To be clear Boss retracted the Duffy criticism because he felt he'd done the wrong thing in terms of being controversial for controversial's sake. Nothing to do with Duffy and his subsequent efforts to get in contact with people Boss knew.
  13. No problem. All I'm saying is make up your mind on matters and don't let anyone (be it Grandmaster Suck or contacts) influence your thoughts on people, websites or issues where most people actually agree clarity is required no matter who is the blame for the club's difficulties.
  14. That's not what I said at all. I've consistently said people from all sides are to blame but, yes, those who claim to represent/lead us should be above the more petty and unsubstantiated stuff I've read today. That's not unreasonable surely? And yes, I meant admin/site owners as well as fan reps per se. As for RM spending the majority of its time slating FF, then as someone who uses the site on a daily basis that just isn't true. Sure some posters moan about a few things but the site itself doesn't mention FF at all and posters are asked not to bleat on about it as it is tedious. As the biggest (and arguably still the best) site on the web, FF is always going to discussed and I doubt MD minds the free publicity when it happens. I don't think RM is mentioned all that often on FF either but it is happening more and more and unfortunately it comes from key posters such as the site editor and others (such as RST Board members). They are influencing people with their inaccurate comments and that isn't the way to lead. No one site or one person is to blame. But certain people do have to look in the mirror as to what they're really trying to achieve. That goes for people on RM and FF.
  15. Amen. No true fan leaders left I don't think. NL and Iniesta have tried hard but are being undermined by their own fellow fans.
  16. Could well be the case but certainly not clear enough to say so with any certainity. Just as the same could be said about the consortium using posters like Barry221 (and others) to maximise the effects of a protest. Swings and roundabouts. Meanwhile the rest of us get dizzy and feel sick at some of the jibes posted.
  17. To be clear, as someone who supported the protests (though not the banners/flyer), I found the timing of the RM articles somewhat problematic and happy to say so publicly. However, the content of them were reasonable enough - contacts' especially valid and worthy of taking on board when viewing the whole scenario. Why anyone would take umbrage for that is rather strange. The whole truth of the matter is that no-one knows the truth and those using the issue to refuel an already tedious inter-site war and publish petty and inaccurate allegations about bears are something to care about when they purport themselves as fan representatives. It is extremely disappointing and saddening to see the reaction of some to a simple difference of opinion on the condition of our club but not altogether surprising. A few people on all sides need to take a step back and ask if they're really helping our fans and club during this time. I'm just glad that Gersnet is free from such mud-slinging and would respectfully suggest those who want to talk about FF and RM do so there.
  18. Why are people insistent on continuing the very personal vilification of good bears simply for posting an opposing opinion on the status quo? Far too many people with too many agendas for the ordinary bear to make up their mind on who is being straight here unfortunately. An utter shambles.
  19. Yep, there is some illogical crap on both forums which is decisive and silly. As I've said previously the issue of some sort of inter-site rivalry is a red herring so a few of the people from both sides can continue the petty and irrelevant personal problems they have with each other. Meanwhile, others are having these opinions force-fed upon them when the truth is both forums are excellent in the main, with some superb posters and fantastic articles - not to mention the charity work of both. It is an absolute nonsense. Fortunately outwith a vocal minority, the majority can see past the disrespectful innuendo and enjoy the people who do debate sensibly.
  20. I thought Bougherra played well also but I'd like to highlight Davie Weir's contribution to that. Not only was he superb himself but his positional play, organisational qualities and reading of the game allows Bougherra the freedom (and confidence) to get forward when hardly any central defenders in Scotland do the same. Weir's consistency and quality since he arrived here have been quite incredible. On this season's form there is no reason why he should retire in the summer.
  21. I think there are a few photos and the odd mention in the media from what I've seen this morning. The protest itself was exactly as it was described - peaceful, small and didn't affect the support for the team. I was given a flyer and I seen around 10-15 banners all round the stadium. I didn't particularly agree with the wording of the flyer or some of the banners but I respect that others do think it was accurate. I'm sure the protestors will be quite happy with that and it is now up to them if they believe the second hand information that has come from the club over the last week.
  22. Protest seemed to go pretty well - well done to the organisers for that; banners looked very professional. As for the inter-site squabbles, as usual it is a red herring for those (on both sides) who'd prefer to keep arguments personal instead of debates professional. Some of the comments I've read this morning really are quote incredible and completely out of proportion to the issue. People are entitled to opposing opinions and just because they may disagree on specific strategies doesn't mean they can't respect each other. Very disappointing but not altogether unexpected. Any reason to fall out and point the finger which is surely tedious for the majority who couldn't give a flying...
  23. I thought Novo did well when he came on and his overall play was better than Miller's - hence the same mark given Miller's penalty contribution and late goal.
  24. Great work from the people involved... It should never matter who is behind projects like these when it is so obvious it benefits every fan of our club - not to mention Rangers FC itself.
