Donald Muir - Shareholders, send the bank a message

Andy's 'Robbing Allan...' article also in top 8... We've had a quite a few successful articles in the last week - traffic to main site and forum has definitely increased over the last month.- 30 replies

Very valid point but I actually think UEFA learned something from that as well... However, the effect of the media in this country on our reputation should never been under-estimated. Interesting how Ewen Cameron is saying the same thing tonight while admitting there is an agenda against our club from certain sections - including a direct dig at Radio Clyde.

Stoker is FF's resident accountant in the same way Bluedell or yourself provide input here... He's been taken to task a few times by BD and boss for his inaccuracies but he does a decent job generally.

Yep, the Govan Front lads are doing a great job actually... Apparently in the face of hassle from the stewards as well which is a poor show but not a surprise!

This is going to be some match if it goes ahead. The situation is as follows: Egypt need to win by 3 goals to qualify If Egypt win by 2 goals in will go to a play-off match Egypt win by 1 goal then Algeria qualify Draw or Algeria win would see Algeria qualify. There is a lot of bad feeling as well with Egypt claiming their players were poisoned before the first match between the two. And the Algeria team bus was attacked and a few players injured last night. I'll try my best mate...

Your point about us remaining competitive while being limited financially in terms of transfers and quality is an interesting one, BD... Does this mean season ticket prices will be reduced or given sales of these remain high, will they be increased? As we seen at the Unirea game there is a ceiling our fans will eventually reach before logic takes over from loyalty. £38 and £36 for the New Year match at Parkhead being another example of increasing prices. Although AJ's words seem open and reasonable we need more than words - more so if we're to invest either in a new owner or in some sort of share issue. The AGM will be most interesting.

Although I think your criticism is a bit strong MF, I agree that the Trust coverage has become rather saturated of late - hence the possible reason for their analysis of the situation going beyond that of what was required. I, for one, wouldn't fancy speaking publicly (and by and large Edgar et al do a good job) but sometimes less is more. I appreciate this is an important period for the organisation though and they're trying to make the most out of that via the media. Let's try and keep the criticism constructive please...

Possibly a couple - there are a few going from RM also. I'm in Glasgow on Sunday night for the Goram dinner. Hopefully a few photos/videos of the 9IAR legends backing Gersnet...

If we get a new owner I'd be surprised to see Bain still here this time next year anyway... Like SDM he's arguably had his time and the club have not done all that well under his CEO tenure - no matter if his hands were tied or not.
-
Yip, agree with most of that TB. But is Bain acting this way because he wants to or because his income is under threat? Either way, I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth.
-
Very good point there actually. Like Bluedell and others I am cynical regarding AJ's comments because of past indiscretions by the board under SDM - a board AJ was part of. However, that doesn't mean he agreed with previous policies or strategies so it will be interesting to see what he can achieve now he's in charge - well once you factor in MIH/Lloyds. No matter, it does take a brave man to follow SDM so hopefully this courage is genuine. We should give him the benefit of the doubt for another few months at least. December and January will be fascinating months.

Interesting observations from Ewan Murray at the Guardian.... http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2009/nov/13/rangers-violence-unirea-urziceni When his prot©g© Murray is even poking fun at him, it shows just how irrational Spiers has become.

Herald interview in writing - reads very well actually...

Going to be a few journalists hurting tomorrow... Spiers especially lost his discipline big time this week so he'll make interesting reading tomorrow...

Another couple of observations is that the new chairman is going to fully brief the supporters regarding the status-quo at the club AGM and it seems they've acted pretty strongly on the JJB deal. Also interesting was that they claim Carling are interested in continuing their relationship with the club but, as expected, their shirt sponsorship won't be renewed next summer. No mention of Umbro which puzzles me.

Billionaire in plan to buy out Rangersâ £30m debt
Frankie replied to johnnyk's topic in Rangers Chat
Depends on how one can finance it. If it is interest free as was the bunnet's scheme; then the take-up might well be possible... -
Any time over the next few hours Ian...
-
Nope, no surprise whatsoever...
-
Yeah, I'm just taking it for granted right now as money in the bank so to speak... A couple of wins against Stuttgart and Seville would add another £1million!
-
Not sure but I doubt it would have been before 30th June...
