  1. An absolute joke of a fine... The SFA disciplinary once again capitulates to a Celtic player.
  2. Now on main site (and on Newsnow in next 5 minutes).... Changed title slightly mate...
  3. I'd be very careful mate. Rangers/SPL/BBC are well within their rights to remove stuff from YouTube etc and may well prosecute if you're the person uploading them...
  4. Another superb article mate... Will put it on Newsnow and compliments Barry's perfectly.
  5. But I don't think the original version of famine song was the source of SDM/Smith's annoyance. More the subsequent YouTube versions and other stuff which does appear on occasion from time to time elsewhere. Unfortunately, because they haven't specified we have no way of knowing what they mean, so what results is more division which the media etc take advantage of.
  6. Glad the notices feature annoyed a lurker enough for them to get involved... You make a valid point mate actually. If SDM (and Smith or anyone else) is serious about doing something then, yes there is provision for them to pursue these 'faceless' people. Perhaps not individual posters per se but certainly the owners/hosts of the site. For example, if someone on here were to continually abuse people of a certain creed/colour (or shall we say make unfounded claims about a certain football club owner), without removal/challenge; then if the club do feel it's a problem, then I guess they could look into it. I'd be astonished if they were successful or had the money to employ people to do so but in the very worst cases such a stance may have merit. Until that happens, the rest of us are viewed with suspicion and the words remain empty and ill thought out rhetoric.
  7. Apparently Velicka is looking rather uninterested in the reserves of late - after a spell out with a virus. No doubt he could be a useful player but there were always problems with his application at Hearts. Hopefully we can turn that around but I'm not overly optimistic on that front. Regarding Loy, he's a decent forward player whom we bought off Killie at a reduced price (they weren't too happy). I think a relative of his is a member on here so maybe they could expand upon his positives. Certainly he is one player doing well at the moment and he did arrive with a good pedigree.
  8. Again, on a tangent, the context is correct for the use of the word 'fuck'. Like I say the irony is interesting but unfortunately I don't think the censors (ie Newsnow) would grasp that tasty side dish before they read the main course... http://www.gersnetonline.net/newsite/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=681&Itemid=1
  9. An excellent read as always mate... I'm sure some will take issue with you thinking separate schools are acceptable which I hope doesn't detract from the main article which hits the nail squarely on the head. I'll certainly upload it later today onto the main site and it will juxtapose nicely with Cal's less 'harsh' approach. Unfortunately, I think - despite the intended irony I'm sure - I'll probably have to remove the fuck word from the title; bugger being a suitable alternative?
  10. I've already asked Cal to expand upon his earlier superb summation... Everyone else is of course welcome to write their own thoughts on this (and any other) subject matter.
  11. 0 - 3 McCulloch scored a header from a corner. Burke scored the second Team is. G.Smith McMillan Dailly McCulloch Smith Burke Edu Ferguson Adam Loy Vellicka Ferguson played 64 minutes and yes, that is Steven Smith at left back!
  12. I think that's exactly what has happened. All parties should have known better and been a bit more savvy to current tensions.
  13. Should be a Man Utd win but may not be as straight-forward as some bears think. If they play to their strengths and are professional they'll win comfortably. If not, Celtic still have the players who can cause them damage.
  14. Exactly mate. Which is why they should keep their comments about unofficial forums to themselves. Same goes for the newspapers who won't allow (or answer) criticism of their articles within their comments sections. Football rivalry and tribalism is a complicated thing arising out of social differences. It can't be switched off like a light. It was always be there and while aspects of it will be indecent, it's hardly the end of the world. Time for the papers and politicians to concentrate on the real problems out there - which to be fair to Walter he did try and state.
  15. Ah, good old British club Celtic with their good old British owner Dermot Desmond... I say!
  16. See I have a wee problem though. Internet forums are nothing to do with Rangers. Sure, some distasteful stuff may be found on them - as you will on any internet forum or any walk of life - but it's not the end of the world and I can't see how people can go out of their way to be offended as a result. I mean who exactly goes looking for forum content to be offended by? And why should Rangers feel the need to apologise for them. What's next? The pubs on Paisley Road West being asked to close? RSC buses with stewards? Just because a journalist may not agree with some of the comments made within them? I'm sick to the back teeth of our club bending over and taking it right up the Gary Glitter. Is that 'bile'?
  17. Indeed they should... The RSS thing means some SPL/Rangers news will be posted in the wrong forum... My ever aware moderating team will hopefully move them when they do...
  18. Great post Cal...
  19. The problem is that at no point do we ever over-run teams at Ibrox. Indeed at every home league game this season, the opposition have caused problems for us in periods during the game. These problems would have been even worse without Thomson - as we seen against Killie for example when Thommo didn't play. Teams seem to get through our midfield easily at the best of times so I'd be worried that a central pairing of Ferguson and Mendes would be far too lightweight in that regard. I do agree Davis helps though but - if we're going with a 4 - that does mean we lose balance and a wide player if he's to be sacrificed for defensive cover.
  20. Aye, welcome to Gersnet Bobby...!
  21. I'm still unsure whether or not Ferguson and Mendes can play together in central midfield. IMO, Kevin Thomson needs to play to allow one (or both of the above) to do their thang... Might mean a return to a 3/5 man midfield or even having Mendes play just off the striker in a 4-4-2?
  22. Is your account working again mate?
  23. Just the pre-cursor to the new Coca-Cola Ibrox Stadium...
  24. Means he can retire from this part of the forum...
