  2. PLG won't be going anywhere.
  3. I urge every fan to email them and ask them to contribute a decent amount of money to the Poppy charity for a real expression of regret.
  4. http://www.rangerssupporterstrust.co.uk/news/2006/101106b.html 10 November 2006 RST Condemn 'The Sun' Newspaper 'The Sun' Newspaper today printed a picture of Paul Le Guen under the headline ââ?¬Ë?The Shakiest Hun in the Westââ?¬â?¢. The RST unreservedly condemn the use of this offensive and sectarian insult. It is also especially insensitive that 'The Sun' chose to use this in the week of Remembrance Day. Once again, it seems that while Rangers fans are condemned for using terminology others find offensive, terms Rangers fans find offensive are considered acceptable. The RST call on 'The Sun' to apologise. We also suggest our members contact the Sun to register their disgust: scottishsunletters@the-sun.co.uk
  5. I can assure you the Trust are bullied by no-one.
  6. http://www.rangerssupporterstrust.co.uk/news/2006/101106.html 10 November 2006 RST Meet with David Murray The RST attended a brief meeting with David Murray and Martin Bain before Wednesdays match with St. Johnstone. Attendees were Chairman Malcolm McNiven, Vice-Chairman Scott McMillan, Spokesperson David Edgar and Webmaster Stewart Franklin. While the details of the meeting were confidential, the RST feel that their members should know that the RST reps raised a number of concerns relating to the club in the short discussion. Topics raised included finance; the short and long-term planning strategy of the club; media; and the clubs relationship with the fans. The Chairman listened and indicated he would make a statement in the next few days. The RST look forward to hearing his statement and will discuss its implications at our next board meeting, scheduled for next week. A further meeting between the club and the RST is provisionally scheduled for late December.
  7. I can never make out what he says either... He's just a silly auld bugger from a long gone era. He's harmless enough and we have bigger problesm on our hands than Andy Cameron.
  8. Yes, and such now Bardsley may well have shout for being in Sarurday's team. But he'll have to do more than his last couple of games in the team to show that he deserves to be in before Hutton for a long spell.
  9. yep, he was the only player not to have a good game last night right enough...
  10. What I thought it would be... Might give PB another chance to show me what I've supposedly been missing.
  11. I think he did mention that we wanted to see a timetable of sorts. Certainly that's what we need desperately. If I had one main criticism of david Murray over the last 20 years is that everything was done on a reactionary basis - not one of planning and long term strategy. That should be the first pre-requisite of any new owner(s).
  12. I think PLG may use this game to rest a couple of players and try out a few others (J-Rod and Ferguson already miss out through injury). ___________________McGregor___________________ Bardsley_______Svensson______Papac________Smith __________Hemdani____Rae______Clement_________ ___Novo___________Sebo______Boyd______________
  13. An excellent article which documents a lot of what I've read on this (and other) forums of late. http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/hi/sport/6029538.html The solution is now in the hands of David Murray. He can allay our fears and counter Edgar's criticism by investing in the team or he can add to them by not reacting and continuing his invisible man act.
  14. Hutton scored a few during his initial spell in the team before his leg break...
  15. Go on the bairns!
  16. Now 1-1 .....
  17. Hutton every time...
  18. Erm, I don't see any schoolboy stuff. I'm trying to back up my opinion with a few instances of why I prefer him. 1. He's a Rangers player 2. IMO, he's shown as good as or better form in the games he's played. 3. His discipline is better. Of course you're going to disagree but I can't recall anything positive that Bardsley has done other than a free kick. For Hutton I can remember at least 3 last ditch covering tackles which is what defending is all about as well as a couple of decent passes which led to goals against Livorno and Haifa.
  19. I still don't see anyone providing reasons for Bardsley playing ahead of Hutton... His passing hasn't been any better; his positioning similarly weak; tackling not any better; his heading ability is worse than Hutton; his temperament suspect; his discipline suspect and his attitude suspect - but he does take a decent free kick. I'm not just basing my thoughts on what I've seen of the Englishman but on what a few Man Utd fans I know also pointed out to me when he joined. The fact remains is that Hutton is a Rangers player and has - this season and before his leg break - performed at least as good as Bardsley over the piece. As such, because he is a Rangers player per se it's better to give him a run in the team ahead of the short-term Bardsley. Can someone tell me what PB offers that AH doesn't?
  20. RB: Certain people I know contacted the club yesterday and were told nothing about the families wishes. That changed today and although I may be being a bit cynical I wouldn't put it past the current regime to ensure the applause route was the one offered to make the club look good. Cynical but not un-realistic. No matter now though - the decision has been taken and now the moment should be observed in the manner requested or how people feel personally. I'll do both to be honest.
  21. Perhaps, but as I say it's another symptom of the club/fans poor relationship disease. We deserve better treatment and as long as people are unhappy with the current regime, the deficencies they see will always be highlighted no matter the link.
  22. No mate, you just have a different opinion. Nothing wrong with that - that's what forums are all about. Viewing football and players is always subjective and I'd argue no-one is right. I've indicated that Hutton is far from a great player but I see no evidence to say that Bardsley is a better bet. He did OK for a game or 2 then was very poor for another game or 2.
  23. RB: As I said elsewhere, I don't think this is about one issue but this topic along with other let downs from the club means people are getting more and more frustrated with how the club deal with certain stuff. As a result, everything is scrutinised and there seems to be little positives to do with Rangers at the moment.
  24. Bardsley has done nothing to suggest he looks a better player. One free kick goal isn't enough to cement his place in the team. Hutton isn't a great player but I think he's been the target of some unfair stick this season. Last year he was poor (who wasn't?) but this term he's been reasonably reliable at right back. On Saturday, other than one mistake, he had a decent game and made a few last ditch tackles. He's done the same earlier in the season and overall has been OK. Now, his distribution and his positioning must improve but I'd certainly rather persevere with him than Bardsley, whose temperament is questionable and certainly didn't look to be any better. Personally, once Lowing has made a full comeback in the reserves from his bad groin injury, I'd like to see him in the team.
  25. That's a fair point - but I can understand why some people would be upset with what seems another example of the club not acting upon the wishes of the support. The online community is a simpilistic way of judging things but by far of the majority seem to prefer and want a silence. Rangers should respect that.
