Caught red-handed one may say, FT....

I'm in TBO Stan and I can assure you we'll be contacting the News asking them for a right of reply.

Indeed. Keep up the good work mate... There are plenty forums out there that need to have more balance put into them with regard to certain issues at the club. Murray, Bain, Le Guen, the players all take valid criticism but sometimes the fans have to look at their roles and responsibilities in our club's future. We're not as perfect as we'd like to think. Which is why leadership right now is ever more important. In every department I mentioned above.

Mate, as usual, The-Gub makes many valid points and it's difficult to argue with his conclusions. However, what we also have to be aware of is that only 20 people turned up to protest last week so the number of bears in receipt of the negative facts surrounding the club and it's regime is extremely minimal. Supporter apathy is as big as (if not bigger) than the problems we face with the current administration.

Yep, your Mam would be most welcome again as well mate. Really is going to be a superb night. The Holiday Inn on Bothwell Street is a smashing hotel and we're hoping to have some more legends as well as the ones above attending. Jorg Albertz, Laudrup and McCoist are 3 names that we're trying to get along.
-
I sincerely hope so. Del is up for it and I'm sure ian1964 and a few more of my mates will join us if available.
-
Mate, you won't have heard anything because I just announced it today. It's now on our website and will be emailed to all our members in the next day or 2. Further news will also appear in the next edition of the Blue Spirit. Memberships run from April to April so as long as you renewed at some point since then you'll still be one. Of course, you don't need to be a member to attend the dinner!
-
Too true. If I could pick any past player for today's team it would be Gough. An inspiring centre-half with tremendous leadership qualities who we have missed badly.
-
No doubt about it - but I'm just showing that we do still have a decent Scottish element. Maybe they are not as good but they are a fair bit younger than some of the legends who signed in their prime so they deserve our backing for longer than some fans are prepared to give.

Laudrup is one of my favorite players but like many ex-players I'd rather they kept their criticism private. He would have been the first to complain if older players had slagged him off for under-achieving on the European stage. Moreover, at the moment we are starting with around 6 Scottish players each game - which is pretty much what we played with for the bulk of his 'Gers career: McGregor Hutton Smith Ferguson Adam Boyd

The Sun - by giving credence to vermin like Gallagher - only suggests that these types of protests are acceptable and as such is encouraging others to carry our similar stunts for 15 minutes of fame. One wonders what the tabloid paid Gallagher for his 'story'.

I'll let bmck answer that. Seems very strange though.

gribz: It's a common and easy mistake to make. Just because FF and many other online forums are aware of the many problems RE: Murray doesn't mean the majority are. The online, fanzine reading community make up a tiny %age of our support. The rest are either unaware of our problems or simply apathetic to them. That's the biggest problem we face IMO.
-
Scheme members will decide. Might be used to build a museum; youth development or player pool. However, David Murray will not decide where it goes.

This thread has been reopened. The offending user has bee banned so don't bother replying to his posts. If someone is guilty of abuse please don't react. Click the report button or contact one of the mods/admin. Unfortunately, we won't be on all the time so patience may be required while we look into matters and sort them out. As such, please avoid pointless posts about our decisions until you have a chance to speak with us personally. Most people on here are experienced enough of being on forums to realise that people can disagree without calling each other names. If they aren't (like Dunn) then firstly, you'll be warned - then you'll be carded - then if you persist you'll be banned.

It has the potential to raise up to £5.6million if subscribed fully. SO far the response has been very good.
-
Gribz: If you (or anyone else) wants to question admin decisions pm myself or Barry. You should know that by now.
-
gersfem: The scheme has nothing to do with Murray. The RST set it up and we decide where the raised money goes. At the same time by buying these shares it increases our say in how the club is run. http://www.rangerssupporterstrust.co.uk/sharesave

Neither camp are more of a fan than the other. Let's stop the oneupmanship crap eh?

Firstly, I think itââ?¬â?¢s important that I should say that Iââ?¬â?¢d still consider myself reasonably neutral when it comes to the position and record of David Murray. Nevertheless, this Rangers fan has been rather vocal recently with regard to who it holds responsible for our clubs current woes and it was reasonably pleasing to see Murray return to the limelight last week and attempt to address our concerns. What too many people forget is that Murray isnââ?¬â?¢t daft. He may have made mistakes lately in several areas but heââ?¬â?¢s been clever in the way he covers his tracks. By waiting so long to speak out he essentially let his new management team shoulder the burden alone for the poor results. Not unreasonable given their errors but Iââ?¬â?¢m sure PLG and Yves Colleau would have preferred some backing a wee bit earlier. Next, we hear the chairman has personally visited the players and told them performances are unacceptable. Again, they could hardly complain at this censure but itââ?¬â?¢s further clever sleight of hand to remove the attention from the some annoyed fansââ?¬â?¢ focal point. Fridayââ?¬â?¢s interview then gave the chairman the opportunity to defend his position even more. Why should he be to blame? Heââ?¬â?¢s only ensuring we remain fiscally prudent; the club canââ?¬â?¢t afford to spend serious money any more; we need to stick together; heââ?¬â?¢s hurting just as much; he wonââ?¬â?¢t sell to any prospective buyer; heââ?¬â?¢s still the right man for the job. No admission of mistakes then ââ?¬â?? just a man absolving himself of blame and preserving his infallibility amongst the adoring majority. In some ways heââ?¬â?¢s correct ââ?¬â?? but in others he fails to answer the questions many fans still have. Of course we have to be careful in how we spend our money. After all it was the chairmanââ?¬â?¢s mistakes of years past that led (in part) to our downsizing in many areas. That was necessary but just because we need to be prudent with our money doesnââ?¬â?¢t mean we need to downsize our ambitions for the future. In addition by asking for patience until January (and next May) he has again bought time from fans that have already waited long enough for signs of improvement on and off the pitch. We canââ?¬â?¢t afford another 3rd place finish while he finds the right blend of fiscal responsibility and player capability. I do agree with the chairman in that we need to stick together. However, that goes both ways and defence from the regime has been sadly lacking as the fans (and club generally) still take flak from all sides. Our manager was even disgracefully called a ââ?¬Ë?hunââ?¬â?¢ in one tabloid yesterday without official comment from the club. Just as disappointing was a statement on our own official site giving credence to aggressive behaviour from a number of fans who ââ?¬Ë?overpoweredââ?¬â?¢ a small protest against the Murray administration which resulted in a banner being ripped and angry words being exchanged between the opposing groups. Itââ?¬â?¢s a shame that the Murray propaganda machine is so quick to applaud his backers acting so aggressively but is posted missing when his own manager is spat upon by Celtic fans or described in derogatory terms in newspapers. Unfortunately, while our club continues to under-achieve in so many areas, there will always be disagreement between the fans as to who is the cause of any problems. Murray is the easy answer but he's by no means the only cause and itââ?¬â?¢s difficult to directly blame him for lacklustre player performances and a manager struggling to adapt to a pacey and physical Premier League. As such, I'm unsure that direct ââ?¬Ë?Murray Must Goââ?¬â?¢ protests are the answer at this point in time. Yes, results have been poor and yes, current board strategy is questionable but until Murray finds a buyer, he's not going to be going anywhere any time soon. After all, he can hardly be sacked and with the club worth around Ã?£40-60million heââ?¬â?¢s not going to just walk away. In my opinion itââ?¬â?¢s best for the unhappy fans to channel their frustration into more positive avenues of protest so Iââ?¬â?¢d urge every fan to consider joining the Rangers Supportersââ?¬â?¢ Trust. Although they, like this article, are neither pro/anti-Murray they do care passionately about our club. Indeed, if it wasnââ?¬â?¢t for their pressurisation in midweek Murray wouldnââ?¬â?¢t have emerged from his Charlotte Square bunker and (albeit with the help of many other bears) we might not have seen an apology from ââ?¬Ë?The Sunââ?¬â?¢ regarding the Paul Le Guen fiasco. The RST certainly isnââ?¬â?¢t for everyone and thatââ?¬â?¢s perfectly fine. Not everyone agrees with their main ethos of fan participation/ownership while certain aspects of their strategy are not ââ?¬Ë?militantââ?¬â?¢ (or indeed ââ?¬Ë?too militantââ?¬â?¢) for some. What they do give though is genuine independent and democratic representation for Rangers fans. So much so, that the club now meets with them ahead of their own Assembly which simply doesnââ?¬â?¢t offer the same wide-ranging and positive resources of the Trust. The unique ââ?¬Ë?GerSaveââ?¬â?¢ initiative provides one way of raising new money for the club and has been backed by many fans and ex-players already. To conclude I think it is time the fans use the RST to channel their frustration while we find and fix our problems. Unfortunately, until one man admits his part in said problems and actually attempts to address this, along with the fans, further division may not be far away. If that does happen, the manager and the players wonââ?¬â?¢t be to blame and the spotlight will again return to the top of the tree.

I'd say you have them spot on there mate. Prso seemed to get a big lift from the opening goal and after that he looked much stronger. Can't disagree with any of the ratings. Nothing too OTT as we didn't really play all that well once more.

Fraser: I'm not going to waste my time making huge posts at midnight but you should know by now that Murray is not the omnipotent figure he sometimes appears to be. In many ways Murray has been as bad for Rangers as he has good. More recently he's allowed our club (and all of us) to be villified in the media without question. He's also presided over a fiscal situation that has seen us end up in 3rd place and apparently going backwards. If that isn't worthy of criticism or at the very least hedging one's bets, then I don;t what is.

People have been warned about abuse before. :admin: Surely users can disagree with each other without the handbags? If not, take it to pm and stop boring the rest of us. Only keyboard hardmen here are the admin as we have the big RED ban button. I might use the smaller YELLOW warning knob instead but I've had a busy week and I wouldn't recommend trying my patience.
