  1. Hutton every time...
  2. Erm, I don't see any schoolboy stuff. I'm trying to back up my opinion with a few instances of why I prefer him. 1. He's a Rangers player 2. IMO, he's shown as good as or better form in the games he's played. 3. His discipline is better. Of course you're going to disagree but I can't recall anything positive that Bardsley has done other than a free kick. For Hutton I can remember at least 3 last ditch covering tackles which is what defending is all about as well as a couple of decent passes which led to goals against Livorno and Haifa.
  3. I still don't see anyone providing reasons for Bardsley playing ahead of Hutton... His passing hasn't been any better; his positioning similarly weak; tackling not any better; his heading ability is worse than Hutton; his temperament suspect; his discipline suspect and his attitude suspect - but he does take a decent free kick. I'm not just basing my thoughts on what I've seen of the Englishman but on what a few Man Utd fans I know also pointed out to me when he joined. The fact remains is that Hutton is a Rangers player and has - this season and before his leg break - performed at least as good as Bardsley over the piece. As such, because he is a Rangers player per se it's better to give him a run in the team ahead of the short-term Bardsley. Can someone tell me what PB offers that AH doesn't?
  4. RB: Certain people I know contacted the club yesterday and were told nothing about the families wishes. That changed today and although I may be being a bit cynical I wouldn't put it past the current regime to ensure the applause route was the one offered to make the club look good. Cynical but not un-realistic. No matter now though - the decision has been taken and now the moment should be observed in the manner requested or how people feel personally. I'll do both to be honest.
  5. Perhaps, but as I say it's another symptom of the club/fans poor relationship disease. We deserve better treatment and as long as people are unhappy with the current regime, the deficencies they see will always be highlighted no matter the link.
  6. No mate, you just have a different opinion. Nothing wrong with that - that's what forums are all about. Viewing football and players is always subjective and I'd argue no-one is right. I've indicated that Hutton is far from a great player but I see no evidence to say that Bardsley is a better bet. He did OK for a game or 2 then was very poor for another game or 2.
  7. RB: As I said elsewhere, I don't think this is about one issue but this topic along with other let downs from the club means people are getting more and more frustrated with how the club deal with certain stuff. As a result, everything is scrutinised and there seems to be little positives to do with Rangers at the moment.
  8. Bardsley has done nothing to suggest he looks a better player. One free kick goal isn't enough to cement his place in the team. Hutton isn't a great player but I think he's been the target of some unfair stick this season. Last year he was poor (who wasn't?) but this term he's been reasonably reliable at right back. On Saturday, other than one mistake, he had a decent game and made a few last ditch tackles. He's done the same earlier in the season and overall has been OK. Now, his distribution and his positioning must improve but I'd certainly rather persevere with him than Bardsley, whose temperament is questionable and certainly didn't look to be any better. Personally, once Lowing has made a full comeback in the reserves from his bad groin injury, I'd like to see him in the team.
  9. That's a fair point - but I can understand why some people would be upset with what seems another example of the club not acting upon the wishes of the support. The online community is a simpilistic way of judging things but by far of the majority seem to prefer and want a silence. Rangers should respect that.
  10. Yeah, I think it's a proposed 5 year contract.
  11. It will be a test of his lawyers as his family have just had a new house bought for them in preparation for his signature.
  12. A silence can do that and is a much better way to show respect for someone who deserves it.
  13. chris: Maybe at other grounds you do but not when it's at Ibrox where Rangers fans always immaculatley observe silences. Applause is ony for club's whose fans cannot be trusted to do that. We can and by having this applause we're only once more patronising our fans.
  14. Fleck has already committed to Rangers and will sign professionally next year when he is 16.
  15. Exactly. People's backing for Bardsley especially confuses me. He's had a couple of reasonable games but other than very public displays of petulance and indiscipline he has no more to offer than Hutton or Lowing.
  16. http://www.rangerssupporterstrust.co.uk/news/2006/061106b.html 06 November 2006 RST Expresses Sadness for the late Bobby Shearer The RST wishes to express its deep sadness at the passing of Rangers Legend Bobby Shearer. Bobby was a fantastic player and a real ambassador for the club. The Trust also feels it would be most appropriate that Bobby be remembered in the traditional way, with an immaculately observed minutes silence prior to this Wednesday evening's match with St. Johnstone. Our most sincere condolences go to all of Bobby's friends and family at this sad time. The thoughts of all Rangers supporters will be with them. The Rangers Family has lost a very special member today.
  17. RIP Another legend leaves us for a better place.
  18. Yes.... indeed you do. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing right now...
  19. Yeah, watched the game at ian1964's house and I said the same - the only way we'd lose goals was to set pieces. Our defence, well the central defence anyway, is awful when defending crosses and set-pieces. Conversely our own are also terrible.
  20. Jim Hannah is one guy at the club who still seems prepared to help Rangers fans instead of hinder them.
  21. I thought Hutton did OK yesterday. Made a few decent tackles but must improve his distribution and positioning.

  23. I reckon you'd do a fine job on the left wing Barry... or should that be right?
  24. I thought the defence did well generally also... Couple of early, nervous errors but other than we coped well with their dangerous players who had scored against Auxerre.
  25. Did give us 2 penalties though.... First one certainly wasn't a foul but 2nd one definitely was. I guess that evens out the Livorno decision. Now just the ones given against us in the SPL to even out...
