  1. Stan, I'd be hugely, hugely surprised if the counter-protest was backed by some sort of in-house agenda. There are rumours of course - but I'd take them with a large pinch of salt.

    Sionko

Mate, I've thought that a few times this season and despite good wins against Hearts, Aberdeen, Livorno and Haifa we've still not managed to retain any consistency. I'm a firm believer of having 11 captains on the pitch but in many respects I think I'd settle for one right now. Not enough players take responsibility for their own performance while ensuring the whole unit are doing their part. It's hugely important to have a Bomber, a Gough, a McCall or an Ian Ferguson as well as jokers such as Durrant or McCoist. That kind of character is sadly lacking from our squad and I think our morale suffers too easily as a result.
  3. We'll be lucky if we get £500K for that waster.

    Sionko

He'll be in the squad for Sunday's game. Sionko is a strange one - he seems to look much more lively for the Czech Republic than us so far. Seems to be very much a player who thrives on confidence and considering our team's low morale so far he's not rose to the occassion other than a couple of reasonable games early in the season.

    The Blue Order

I doubt even this confused regime would put the great work of the Blue Order in the same letter as more political groups such as the RST. What fans like 'Ali' don't appreciate is that the RST don't profess to speak for anyone other than their members. Unfortunately, some would prefer to slag off their fellow fans before casting their eyes towards their heroes. Even when the RST are the only current group coming up with initiatives to raise money for our club. Don't expect the snooze to print that any time soon...
  6. I think £12K per week is a fair offer for a player who despite being exciting and talented is inconsistent and injury prone. I'd like to see him stay but I'm sick of us wasting money on players who don't deserve huge wage rises.
  7. Oh, I agree mate - but going by what the chairman has been saying I doubt we will.

    The Blue Order

Aye, another fan - obviously misinformed.
  9. We can't afford either of those 2 players. Firstly we need a quality centre-half. That will take up most - if not all - of any monies made available. Of course if we can move on the likes of Buffel then that may free up some more money but again I doubt we can afford Brown especially (who I'm led to believe has a £2-2.5million minimum fee release clause). Hibs don't need to sell at the moment either.
  10. McGregor will play on Sunday now he has signed a new contract and commited to the club.
  11. Caught red-handed one may say, FT....

    The Blue Order

I'm in TBO Stan and I can assure you we'll be contacting the News asking them for a right of reply.
  13. Indeed. Keep up the good work mate... There are plenty forums out there that need to have more balance put into them with regard to certain issues at the club. Murray, Bain, Le Guen, the players all take valid criticism but sometimes the fans have to look at their roles and responsibilities in our club's future. We're not as perfect as we'd like to think. Which is why leadership right now is ever more important. In every department I mentioned above.
  14. Mate, as usual, The-Gub makes many valid points and it's difficult to argue with his conclusions. However, what we also have to be aware of is that only 20 people turned up to protest last week so the number of bears in receipt of the negative facts surrounding the club and it's regime is extremely minimal. Supporter apathy is as big as (if not bigger) than the problems we face with the current administration.
  15. Yep, your Mam would be most welcome again as well mate. Really is going to be a superb night. The Holiday Inn on Bothwell Street is a smashing hotel and we're hoping to have some more legends as well as the ones above attending. Jorg Albertz, Laudrup and McCoist are 3 names that we're trying to get along.
  16. I sincerely hope so. Del is up for it and I'm sure ian1964 and a few more of my mates will join us if available.
  17. Mate, you won't have heard anything because I just announced it today. It's now on our website and will be emailed to all our members in the next day or 2. Further news will also appear in the next edition of the Blue Spirit. Memberships run from April to April so as long as you renewed at some point since then you'll still be one. Of course, you don't need to be a member to attend the dinner!
  18. Too true. If I could pick any past player for today's team it would be Gough. An inspiring centre-half with tremendous leadership qualities who we have missed badly.
  19. No doubt about it - but I'm just showing that we do still have a decent Scottish element. Maybe they are not as good but they are a fair bit younger than some of the legends who signed in their prime so they deserve our backing for longer than some fans are prepared to give.
  20. http://www.rangerssupporterstrust.co.uk/news/2006/151106b.html 15 November 2006 Trust Announce 2007 Annual Dinner Following the resounding successes of our previous three annual dinners, the Trust is pleased to announce the date of next year's dinner will be Saturday the 24th March, 2007. The venue is the Holiday Inn in the city centre of Glasgow. Doors open at 7pm and the 5 course dinner will be served from 7.30pm. The cash bar will be open from around 7pm till 2am. Our first honorary member Mark Walters will be our main speaker of the evening and we are delighted to announce that renowned speaker Bill Copeland; comedian Bert Allen and the legend that is Gordon Smith (MC for the evening) will complete the first-class line-up. A host of ex-Rangers players are hoping to attend. These include Billy Davies, Colin Jackson, Colin Stein, Tom Forsyth, Ally Dawson & John MacDonald and hopefully many more. We are also hoping to organise discounted room prices for those of us who would like to stay over in the excellent hotel. Tickets have again been kept to a very reasonable £50 per person or £500 for a table of ten and demand is expected to be high. All monies raised will go to further increasing the RST's shareholding in Rangers FC. Dress code is smart. You can now buy tickets securely via our online booking form or by sending a cheque (made payable to the Rangers Supporters' Trust) to: The Rangers Supporters' Trust c/o Direct Sharedeal 3rd Floor Sterling House 20 Renfield Street GLASGOW G2 5AP You can now also pay using PayPal by clicking the link above! It really couldn't easier! Keep an eye on the site for more info regarding this exciting event. Please contact us through the site regarding any questions regarding the dinner. Please note that Rangers have no game that day but Scotland are at home to Georgia.
  21. Laudrup is one of my favorite players but like many ex-players I'd rather they kept their criticism private. He would have been the first to complain if older players had slagged him off for under-achieving on the European stage. Moreover, at the moment we are starting with around 6 Scottish players each game - which is pretty much what we played with for the bulk of his 'Gers career: McGregor Hutton Smith Ferguson Adam Boyd

    The Sun today

The Sun - by giving credence to vermin like Gallagher - only suggests that these types of protests are acceptable and as such is encouraging others to carry our similar stunts for 15 minutes of fame. One wonders what the tabloid paid Gallagher for his 'story'.
  23. I'll let bmck answer that. Seems very strange though.
  24. gribz: It's a common and easy mistake to make. Just because FF and many other online forums are aware of the many problems RE: Murray doesn't mean the majority are. The online, fanzine reading community make up a tiny %age of our support. The rest are either unaware of our problems or simply apathetic to them. That's the biggest problem we face IMO.
  25. Scheme members will decide. Might be used to build a museum; youth development or player pool. However, David Murray will not decide where it goes.
