  1. You have problems keeping it up with girls about Pete??:fish:
  2. Chelsea 1-1 Wigan By Paul Fletcher Goalscorer Essien started after Frank Lampard fell ill Emile Heskey struck with an injury-time volley to earn a point for Wigan and leave Chelsea's hopes of winning the Premier League hanging by a thread. Wiagn keeper Chris Kirkland made fine saves from Nicolas Anelka and Salomon Kalou while John Terry hit the bar. Chelsea eventually took the lead when Michael Essien struck from 20 yards. But Heskey converted Jason Koumas's teasing cross to leave Chelsea five points behind leaders United with four games left to play. Heskey's goal is a wounding blow for Chelsea and a severe punishment for their failure to kill off the game after taking the lead with 54 minutes played. The warning signs had been there when when Latics substitute Antoine Sibierski forced a decent save from Petr Cech minutes before Heskey scored. And once the final whistle sounded a chorus of boos rang out across Stamford Bridge as manager Avram Grant made his way down the tunnel. But the draw is a superb result for visiting team Wigan, who are now six points clear of the relegation zone.
  3. Finished one each, Essien then Heskey. Surely it's Man Utd's title now!!!
  4. He's maybe never signed them before, but has he gone three seasons without a trophy before?
  5. I dunno, he's not that old, and I think an experienced midfielder is one of the things needed to keep Arsenal going. It won't be Man Utd with Carrick, Scholes, Fletcher, Hargreaves, Anderson all in midfield.
  6. Has to be Carlos, as for young player, I've no idea. But I'm delighted, ecstatic even, to see Sasa Papac nominated. Well-deserved recognition.
  7. Really, I was sure you had a ticket!!!!!!!!!!!!!:fish:
  8. First i've heard Lovenkrands mentioned in a while. Would love Rino back, but can't see it happening. With Flamini out of contract at Highbury (I know) good chance he could head down there.
  9. Just wear a soap on a rope round you're neck. Like garlic to vampires!

I wish people would stop mentioning Miller. If we keep quiet Walter might forget about him.
  11. I would probably end up with my house repossessed if I signed up for that!

It's like the Robbie Fowler rumour!!! But he has scored a lot of goals at international level and would get goals up here. Swap for Cousin??
  13. Makes perfect sense - who would expect the normally calm and sensible Dutch football fans to get carried away!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. It's daft - there is no way to be sure Eduardo will be the same player if and when he comes back, there defence is shaky, he's obviously unsure of his keepers (was Almunia injured today, cos he wasn't on the bench). I reckon, to compete properly they need 3 first team players and 2 or 3 new squad players.
  15. But Wenger has said he'll only buy one player in the summer!
  16. You missed that bit Jon!
  17. I think Rafa has learned that the rotation isn't necessarily the best policy to use.
  18. Aye, I noticed that too.
  19. I used to lke Gallas as a player, but this season he has fallen so far in my estimation. Total Drama queen and like lauren said, offers no leadership whatsoever. Toure or Fabregas should be captain.

I have to say the last few times I've seen Boyd play he has impressed me with his workrate and hold up play. Next season he'll be our main striker - maybe.

Fuck have I just missed the highlights. Pish and Tosh!!
  22. I don't think it was a penatly but it was a birthday card. There wasn't any contact but he thought about making contact, but he didn't make contact cos he couldn't get a mobile signal. In the end I'm as sick as a parrot and over the moon but really, you have to blame the Belgians!
  23. Interestingly, that's now 3 seasons without a trophy for Arsenal and Wenger. Now I think he is a very, very good manager but is it possible that's time for a fresh approach down there?
  24. Two from how many? We got 6 months from Boumsong and for every Prso there were 3 Fillipo Manieros. 7 months is ripping the piss a bit though. If he wanted an EPL job, why not wait for one to come up? He fell into the mind game trap with the media talking about the 'kids' they were playing and thought we could go over there, attack, and stroll the game. As for the Italy game, for thelast half hour everyone around me at the game could see we needed some fire-power and eck sat there hoping someone else was going to do the job for us - unfortunately Scott McDonald wasn't about! I He won some trophies, he also gave us some truly horrendous times. Remember his 'sparkling' start to his final season? His inability to put out a team to compete with Celtic? I never wanted him as manager and nothing he did in his time has changed my mind. He isn't remembered fondly by Motherwell or Hibs fans I know and I don't think Birmingham fans will be any different come the end of his tenure there.
  25. I didn't say I wanted McLeish relegated. I don't wish him ill at all - however I don't wish him any success. To be honest I'm actually fairly ambivalent towards him. He was a very poor manager - his signings were nothing short of abysmal - Fanfan, Ostenstad, Capucho etc. His tactics, team selections, use of substitutes and insistance on playing players out of position was naive to be nice and farcical to be brutally honest. As for the Scotland job, Smith wouldn't have left for any other team than Rangers - McLeish would have left for any team willing to pay him the wage he wanted. But, at the same time, I was unhappy when Walter left Scotland halfway through a qualifying campaign and said so on this forum. McLeish's poor management was shown in the last 2 group games against Georgia and Italy. He grossly underestimated Georgia and his reluctance to attack Italy by using his options on the bench when we were desparate for a goal was baffling.
