  1. Well I was only 2 and a half when we went to Argentina!! But I guess it's a glass half full or half empty thing - it never worked out but he made the nation proud to be Scottish and proud to be in the World Cup Finals - is a bit of hope such a bad thing?
  2. That's pretty much what I was gonna post. with all this talk about sporting integrity over the last week or so, the SPL were sorely lacking any sort of integrity when they forced Utd to play that game.
  3. I've met many people in my life I don't like, who have made decisions I disagree with but have never felt the need to abuse them or to assault them. It's not a problem with Rangers fans, Celtic fans or any other fans, it's a problem with our society today. The punishments meted out by our courts are laughable to the point where there is no deterrent for the sort of behaviour that has becomne commonplace. McGeady should be able to go where he wants, when he wants without fear of any sort of abuse and certainly not of assault.
  4. What gets me about this is his lack of respect for those he is 'representing'. For millions of Catholics around the world, the Pope is a figure of respect and love. I'm not into religion at all - Protestant, Jew, Muslim whatever, it makes no odds to me - but i firmly believe that everyone has a right to their beliefs as long as they don't harm anyone. What Boruc did was take a figure who is worshipped by people the world over and use that to get a rise out of football fans - it has nothing to do with his religious beliefs at all. And that is what I find insulting about it - his lack of respect for the beliefs of others and, whilst it may not be the dictionary definition, isn't that exactly what bigotry is?
  5. Again a pretty rotten game. Barca just look to have no spirit or cohesiveness at all. Cracking goal from the Ginger one.
  6. Definately. We sold Hutton and that left us with onerecognised full-back in Whittaker, who doesn't get a game at full back and Papac and Broadfoot out there and they are converted centre halfs. Papac has been excellent and Dr Kirk started off well, but as the bigger games have come in he has been found wanting. Hutton gave so much both defensively and creatively that he has been really missed. As for Cuellar/Smith, well Alan Smith is turning into the new Robbie Fowler with a rumour going about every transfer window. I rate him, he would do well in Scotland but would value him closer to £2million (EPL prices) and Cuellar is far to important to let go. He must be valued, realistically at about £12-14 million.
  7. I have to say I've been very disapointed with him this season, especially since the turn of the year. I thought at the start of the season he would be first pick beside Fergie and I think Hemdani thought that too. When he wasn;t I think he decided then that he was going to leave and it's showed in his performances. It's a shame the turnaround from last year, when he was outstanding week in week out. I think, like Calscot says, it'll be a relegation battle for him next year and if we get £1mill for him I'll be happy, although I would rather have lost out on the money and had the player we had last season.
  8. I thought we had an agreed fee with Fulham of about £3million, so no matter what Boro or others offer Fulham it shouldn't affect whether our bid is accepted - it'll depend on where Davis wants to go.
  9. Definately not. We have a bit of cash, Cousin will go in the summer, I think the St Johnstone game sealed that one, we have to be looking for a biggish name striker.
  10. Getting tore into William Gallas, accusing him of lacking leadership etc. after his huff against Birmingham. Dressing room disharmony, dontcha just love it.
  11. I don't see why not. As long as they continue to pay what they owe, he should still be free to move on.
  12. He's got too much of an attitude problem. Decent talent, and I admit to wanting him ahead of Kris Boyd at the time, but I think we got the right one. If we're gonna take anyone from Birmingham, make it McFadden.
  13. Done and done!
  14. Stuck Radio Scotland on and there's nothing been mentioned there so far.
  15. Well done the kids.
  16. Well hopefully it's not Liverpool. Steady Jon, before you do yourself a mischief. Apparently if a club from their respective leagues top 2 wins the title, Scotlands champions go straight into the group stage. If the winner is from outside the top 2 (Liverpool) then we will have to qualify.
  17. First I've heard.
  18. That's a shame for Naismith. Hopefully he won't miss too much time at the start of next season.
  19. Good, good. Fingers crossed!
  20. What a boring fucking game!! Hopefully the second leg might be a bit more entertaining. One thing though, if there's a better left back around than Patrice Evra, I ain't seen him.
  21. Basically the SPL have wimped out of a decision. By trying to keep both sides happy all they have succeeded in doing is annoying them both. If they had the bollocks to make a proper decision, one way or another things would be different.
  22. Aye, he's done it to get a rise. Don't give him the satisfaction. Mention to him that Merseyside police jus picked up John Arne Riise whilst he was driving home from training He was heading in the wrong direction. Ba-dum tish
  23. Give a tasty tackle next time you're playing :box: To be honest, I don't have a problem with it. There are always gonna be folk with to much time on their hands and a bitter streak. Getting upset just gives it credence.
  24. Lou Gramm??
  25. Is that the senile dementia finally kicking in Jon-boy??
