  1. Whats the deal with Dalcio, is he here until the end of the season, I thought it was only a 6 moth loan
  2. Naismith isn't what we need long term but might be a decent option till the end of the season, especially if he is going to play for next to nothing. I wanted to get him in during the summer, but after the money we have spent on guys like Pena and Herrera, who have not really worked out, with Naismiths injury problems, I think carries to much of a risk to sign him permanently, as mentioned on another post about Jordan Rossiter. It does however look to be shaping up as a good transfer window, the signing of Goss was a bit underwhelming, but if he is there to make up the numbers then so be it, I don't think to much is expected of him so he may shine with a bit less pressure, the signing of Jamie Murphy is a great bit of business, if the board can pull of Cummings as well it would be spectacular, the thought of a front 3 of Morelos, Cummings and Murphy is really exciting. I am also glad to here we are going to approach the boy Docherty from Hamilton, every time I have seen him he always gives a good account of himself, reminds me of Kevin Thomson a bit, although he drives forward a bit more. Anyone heard anymore about Russell Martin, I'm not to fussed if we get him or not, might be good to have another experienced head at the back, it seems to have went quite though. It will be an interesting second half of the season, if we can find a bit of consistency then we will do well, we need to go on a run.
  3. I agree with Gaz, its a shame that he has had so many injury problems, he does look like a good footballer and someone we could really do with in the middle of the park, I would love to see him and brown go toe to toe, but I think its getting to the point where we really need to consider our options, how long can you pay a player to sit on the treatment table. He really doesn't represent good value for money. I thought they had figured out what was wrong with him and were treating that, was it his hip ??
  4. Has everyone went off the idea of Walker as a number 10
  5. Hope that's not the case, the boy might be good and as I said above he will get 100% from the fans, I just think other areas need attention and its a pretty underwhelming signing, if we are getting rid of folk then fair do's but it seems pretty mediocre
  6. I want the boy to do well and prove us all wrong and I will get behind him 100%, however there is no real benefit to rangers unless this guy is special, which at 22 and struggling to get in to a qpr team that's 17th in their league seems unlikely. There is no chance we are going to buy him, he recently signed a 3 year deal with qpr and as you say if Holloway rates him there is no way he is coming here From some of the reaction iv read on twitter, qpr fans look like they are glad to get rid of him, the boy sounds like he needs a boot up the arse. Dogfighters is what we need just now, the SPFL is as bad as I can remember it, teams turn games in to dog fights fairly regularly if things aren't going there way. This boy by all accounts sounds like he needs time on the ball (which he won't get) and likes to spray about passes. Listening to the HH podcast with Kevin Thomson, he spoke about that team he was in and his quote was something like they were all footballers but if teams turned it in to a battle, they could match them, in the current team I see very few players like that, maybe Morelos, Mcrorie and Jack. I just don't think he is what we really need at the minute, there are other areas that require more attention, I would have rather tried to develop Barjonas for 6 months
  7. Is the Hyndman thing just fan talk. I know some folk don't rate him, I think he was a bit up and down with us, but there is definitely a player in there and he is only 21, if he gets a consistent run in a team I think he would be good as an advanced playmaker (10) or a box to box midfielder, he is wasting away at Bournmouth, surely they wouldn't stand in the way if someone offered a million.
  8. The signing of Goss is extremely underwhelming, you have to give the young guy a shot but I don't think it adds any value to the squad from what iv read, it is putting guys like Barjonas down the pecking order for someone who by all accounts might be a bit better, and is wages spent on a position that imo should not be priority at the minute, is this guy out of contract at the end of the season and are we looking to take him on loan with a view to offering him a contract if he does well. Its a very Warburton signing, some guy that promised so much and has lost his way a bit so we offer him a path to get his career back on track. I hope this isn't the type of transfer window we are going to get.
  9. I honestly can't remember much about Martin, I seen him a couple of times when I went to see Scotland but couldn't tell you what type of player he is, im guessing he isn't a ball playing defender.
  10. Who was the big African guy touting himself for rangers a couple of seasons ago, I think he got a trial with Aberdeen and they never bothered with him, the guy became a bit of a parody.
  11. bit indifferent about it, I think the team needs more rangers men, but only if they are good enough, as far as halliday is concerned I don't think he offers much, I agree with gazza above tho if it comes to him against nemane or dalcio there is no contest.
  12. Someone suggesting today that maybe Michael O'Neill has already agreed terms with rangers because of thi appointment, do we think this is a possibility
  13. There must be a reason we aren't going for anyone, is it true the board have said we aren't going for anyone who isn't in a job and that there are no outstanding candidates Slaven Bilic, Walter Mazzari, Laurent Blanc, Marcelo Bielsa, Ronald Koeman, Frank De Boer, Thomas Tuchel are all out a job, I realize that some if not all of these guys will be way out of our budget and we are maybe not that attractive a prospect for some managers,, surely they must be speaking to someone. I know the McInnes thing went TU but surely they had a back up plan, I see Karanka is the favorite with the bookies again and Mark Hughes has now been mentioned because it looks like Pulis is going to get the Stoke job. The whole thing has become really frustrating, im not sure if the club still has a way they want to set up and play so they are looking for a manager that can work with that style and formation and that's why Mark Allen is pushing ahead with player purchases.
  14. Hate seeing players getting injured but it might benefit the team if he is out it for a wee while, he has been a great servant to the club but I think this was the only way he was ever going to get dropped and he has needed to be dropped for a while. Looking forward to seeing Windass and Morelos up front together, hopefully they can forge a good partnership.
  15. Pete that boy from Zwolle looks half decent, although if he is that good its unlikely we would be able to get him, definitely the type of player we should be looking at though. I would hope we are looking at players to scoop up on pre contracts, there is a part of me that hopes we go for walker, Mcarthur, McBurnie and Morgan, just because they are rangers fans (I know that's daft), don't think you can have enough of that in a team, as far as mcarthur is concerned you would be hoping he takes a wage cut. Morgan might benefit from another year somewhere, but we should be trying to get young talent in as well and can't be any worse than Nemane or Dalcio, iv been really impressed with the guys coming through, Hardie is one that I'm still not sure about though, I worry that he might be one of these guys that is great at youth level but just can't quite make the step up to first team, hopefully he does though, he is a natural finisher. The January window will be interesting especially if we don't have a manager, I wouldn't expect us to buy anyone unless we have a manager in place, however I could see us signing pre contracts if Mark Allen thinks they would add value to the squad and there are players out of contract in the summer.
  16. Great result, I missed the game unfortunately, seen the goals. what happened with Miller, was he injured or was it a tactical switch by Murty.
  17. Dave M609

    Pena

The forward line are only part of the problem, we are seriously lacking goals and for all his faults, at least pena was sticking the ball in the back of the net, he is a good number ten, he gets beyond the striker, i agree his touch has been shocking and he does give the ball away a lot, but surely that will get better when he is more comfortable with his surroundings and those around them, as everyone knows you hardly get a second on the ball up here and it will take him some time to get used to. One thing is for sure though, things need to change, even at the back, I read a stat the other day that around half the shots opposition have had on our goal have went in, that's a truly shocking statistic. I hope we can get a manager in pronto and sort this team out, they need a boot up the arse, and a change of formation 352 or 532 is the way forward atm with the group of players we have
  18. I agree Davie, I think with the players we have 352 or 532 would be the best option, with the current situation we find ourselves in I think playing a 433 or a 4231 is to expansive for what we have at our disposal, we need to be solid and hard to beat first and our team will evolve eventually, it will take time and patience though, and a manager will get time if we are winning, even if its 1-0's here and there, we need to get closer to them. We can't really afford any luxury players either, we need workers, I would have no hesitation in dropping Tav, I really like him but Candias does cover for him a lot, and you know Candias will work all day long.
  19. I think we do need some sort of cash injection, hopefully with the new shirt deal next year we can free up a bit of cash, we need to replace a few players. The board need to be smart in who they appoint also, they need to get a manager who will get the best out of average players and we need to be more intelligent in the transfer market. I would like to see us scooping up Scottish talent, but we really need a leader in the middle of the park, as you say Frankie, someone who can take the game by the scruff of the neck and dictate the tempo of a match, I can't remember the last time we had someone like that. It's tough going just now, I understand why the board are taking their time, but they really need to speed it up a bit. Marcelo Bielsa might be free soon
  20. I would punt rossiter and kranjcar in the window, free up some money.
  21. He has looked very calm and assured when he has came in. I must admit iv been quite impressed with a number of guys that have been drafted in over the last wee while, I also thought Aiden Wilson and Jaime Barjonas looked pretty good when they came in and iv heard good things about Zak Rudden and Liam Burt. Graham Murty and his team are doing a really good job with these guys.
  22. Agree Frankie, the media are going in to overdrive about McInnes and it looks like that's the route we are going to go down. Would be disappointed if that's the case but I do feel we need a permanent appointment in straight away, I don't want anyone on a 6 month contract, I think the squad still needs additions and the board won't fund any acquisitions for a guy that's only going to be here for 6 months, so if we can get someone in and get them signing their players in Jan it will help, I wouldn't fancy us going through the whole season with the squad we have just now. Hopefully the new guy can get a bit more out the players that are there as well.
  23. It's not been metioned yet so im going to throw it out there what about Walter Mazzari, not sure if he is to close in similarities to Pedro, left Watford in the same fashion, good coach though (I have a soft spot for Napoli). Poulo Sousa is another interesting one. not really sure who we could get. definetly do not want McLeish, mcInnes or Billy Davies. I would rather go baws deep and go for someone of Koemans ilk, someone who commands respect.
  24. Does anyone know when Wallace will be back, he was out of form before he got injured but after seeing that on sunday I can't help but think Wallace at LB and John pushed forward in LM might solve a few problems. Would make us more solid for a start and I think switching to a flat 442 would help also. Wee morelos looked very isolated on sunday, he needs a partner up there with him, he gets about and isn't afraid of a challenge but I think that is taking away his ability to get in to good positions to score. as mentioned earlier in the thread big Bruno needs to cut the Hollywood passes, it almost worked on Sunday in the first half but motherwell got wise to it, its frustrating as it bypasses the midfield, then we lose possession and we are under the cosh. On the managerial suggestions, none of them really excite me or fill me with any great deal of hope we could mount a serious challenge. I'm really not sure where we go from here, I like Perdo, he always comes across really well, has great ideas, just not sure if he is able to get them across. Would you give him another transfer window, will the board back him. do the board trust him to purchase players. The first thing I would do is get Moult, Walker, Mclean and John tied up on pre contracts and offer some cash to get them in just now, we are seriously short of options up top. Would PC ask for different players though. Will Mark Allen have any input as well, is it not up to him to implement a footballing philosophy within the club, if that's the case I think McInnes, Wright, Allardyce and O'Neill would all be ruled out just going on the tactics that Pedro is trying to implement. We are probably looking at managers like Gio, FDB types. I think the next appointment does need to be someone of significant stature though, it can't be a wild card. Just another thing while im on here, the standard of refereeing needs a massive overhaul in this country at some point this summer, well the whole of the SFA should be overhauled. the treatment dished out to rangers on sunday was nothing short of scandalous and its not the first time this season, its happened on a number of occasions, we seem to be fair game. We should and probably do have the players to mix it up but it was way over the line. How on earth do we expect the game to move forward in this country if you can get away with assaulting people on the park and its brushed off by the media as ' Rangers don't have any fight', if the shoe was on the other foot and that was the manky mob, the media would be all over it, I see saint Brenda is already in the news condemning it so that motherwell can't employ the same tactics in the final.
