    Windass

No way wee Morelos should be playing out wide, that's just mental, I do think we need another striker though, I worry if he gets injured. I head Warburton was playing Cummings out wide right for Forest yesterday

    Windass

Windass does divide the support, I think he hass something to offer, but is a frustrating character. He is either good for a half a game or about 60 mins or like the other night, drifts in and out of the game, he has definitely improved under Caixinha, there is no doubt about that but I think we could find a better option in the long run, he is doing a job just now, and he ahs been half decent, he needs to cut out the shooting from distance though, its not something he has in his locker. I think Walker is the obvious replacement, I would like him signed up in January, offers another goal threat as well as he can shoot from distance, did he get a goal and an assist at the weekend, thought I heard that on the radio.
  3. Would love to see someone like him at RB but he would be a short term fix to the rb area, what age is he now. The one that surprises me is that no one has taken a punt on Giuseppe Rossi, I know he has had his injury problems, he is only 30 though and was quite a prolific wee striker, might still command a decent wage though
  4. Has it been confirmed who is injured and definitely out of the match. I would start with Pena as well but if Alves is out millers experience could be invaluable in this fixture, particularly with Wallace out as well.
  5. Great read Frankie, thoroughly looking forward to Saturday, as you say we have been spoiled with success over the years and it's difficult to take when they have been on such a good run, but it has to come to an end at some point there is nothing surer, and we are the most likely to do it. We need to get in their faces from the first whistle, lay down a marker in the first 5 mins, if Brown and Roberts haven't been put up in the air I will be disappointed. I think your team selection is spot on and could do celtic some damage if we are on our game, down the right side Tav needs to be on his game, constantly aware of whats going on, the good thing is wee Candias will provide cover and is happy to run up and down the wing all day, this could be a good out for us as well, Tierney will be bombing forward no doubt so will leave gaps at the back. On the left side if Windass turns up he will give Lustig a torrid time and as another poster said its probably one of the weaker parts of their team at the minute, I wouldn't be to concerned about our left side in this game, I don't see Lustig bombing up to much so it means Windass won't have to track as much, he will probably only last an hour anyway, I wouldn't like to see Hodson put in at left back and John moved forward. I hope Kenny is feeling a bit revitalized after his wee break, he does like scoring against them. Depending on the score, I'd like to see Herrera and Pena getting half an hour as well if possible.
  6. I like miller, he has ben a good servant to the club, however everyone is aware that he is consistently dropping deep and its isolating Morelos, im not sure if this is Pedro's tactics or if miller is taking this upon himself so that he can get more in to the game, in either case Pedro needs to cut it out, it needs to stop, Miller and Morelos can only play up front if miller is actually there, they looked good in the Dunfermline game when miller was more advanced, played well off each other. I would drop him for a couple of games, he is looking increasingly frustrated and I don't think its is productive for the team. Anyway, anyone heard anything about any more transfers
  7. Iv just listened to HH firing blanks, just want to say I never listened to it before I posted this
  8. I would be gutted if that was it for transfers, I still think we are very weak up front and could do with something extra in midfield and at fullback. mind you that's a few quid there anyway. I still think we might get a couple in before the window closes, I wouldn't pay a million for Walker and Mclean though when we can sign them on pre contracts in January. I'm still undecided about Moult but if it's a cheap option as a striker we could do worse, you know he can score in this league and doesn't mind getting physical (see our opening game) just think if we get a few injuries to our forwards we are going to struggle, I would fling in a bid of a couple hundred thousand to see what kind of reaction it got.
  9. Yeah he looks like he keeps busy, a big unit as well, it would make sense it looks like he plays the position Miller is currently occupying, sort of CF /LW role. Looks like he could be a target man as well, big unit, not that prolific, maybe they see him as a good foil for Morelos or Miller if he stays forward.
  10. Sounds ok, I don't want to build my hopes up but he is the type of player we need on the left, supposedly the fastest player over 100 yards in the under 23 premiership. fastest means nothing if you can't trap or dribble with a ball but it is encouraging. There is no doubt this is a Mark Allen signing but will this maybe signal another change in tactics, Candias on one side and Namane on the other side. I remember reading something about Pedro's time in Mexico where his team were defending but leave two speedy wingers on the halfway line at either side of the pitch, these two would be the outballs and this was how he won most of his games and honors in Mexico
  11. I know what you mean Franky, im guessing they aren't giving a hoot because of all the stuff that went on during the summer with the kits and the fact the deal ends next year
  12. Guys, seen a few things online, this looks like the template for the new away kit. Not to sure about it, will still buy it though. http://www.prodirectsoccer.com/products/Puma-Accuracy-SS-Jersey-Mens-Football-Teamwear-Puma-RedWhite-125559.aspx?
  13. I wasen't meaning taking youngsters, the loans I was meaning would be senior pro's that we wouldn't otherwise be able to afford and face a season in the reserves if they aren't in the PL squads, guys like danny Ings, peter Crouch, Wilfred Bony, although we will probably be limited to a certain amount of players im guessing a lot of clubs would be able to come in and take these kind of guys before we could, it would be a gamble leaving it that late though. I don't think we could get anyone like Bony or Ings but its that type of player we need to be looking at. Listening to the HH podcast with KT the other week he made a good point that we had the players to play any team off the park, but if they wanted to turn it in to a scrap we could do that as well. I think we need a bit more steel, and I agree Frankie, I think the squad looks a bit light to.
  14. I would be disappointed if that's the stance, especially if we can pick both up on a pre contract in January and by the sounds of it both don't want to go anywhere else. I think hearts would be willing to do business, Aberdeen definitely won't unless we are paying over the odds. Thing is im not sure who else we could go for, im not sure what kind of market we are in just now, could they maybe hang off and pick up a couple of decent loans towards the end of the transfer window.
  15. Guys I missed most of the game as I was getting ready to go out, seen bits of the first half, but that was about it, I have seen some highlights but im guessing they weren't very balanced after everything that iv heard went on. First of all lets get the lennon thing out the road, he is a wee fud and we hate him, end of story, he was giving some back, that's what football is all about even though its hard to take, there is no need to get your knickers in a twist about it, C1872's statement should have been about the refereeing of the game and not that twat on the sidelines giving him all the attention he craves. The referee, what can you say, he had an absolute shocker, there is no other way to describe it, I never seen the tackle on Morelos but I seen the pics, I can't believe hibs got a free kick from that. On the sending off, I have no idea what he was thinking, after seeing stokes tackle on Tav in the first 5 mins I can't believe he never went off for that, to then put your hands round someone's throat and still not be sent off is unbelievable. Beaton should be taken to task for this, that type of decision making can't go on. This is what C1872's statement should have been focusing on, Beaton should be demoted to the 3rd division until further notice, there should be a review of his performance and action taken against his incompetency's, I don't believe there is any sort of bias but when you see some of the decisions its hard to argue that their might not be as some of them are completely baffling. The thing is, there are people job's at stake here as well, PC has been on a shoogly peg since the progres game, results like this can affect his position, iv got to say I don't think this game should have any bearing on Pedro's position, from what iv read we were on top until the sending off, I hope they take out their frustrations on hearts this Saturday. On the team, again only from what iv seen in highlights and read, Hodson should be nowhere near our team, that's two weeks in a row now. The center halfs are a bit concerning after seeing Simon Murrays goal, he just waltzed through the defence (was impressed with what I seen of him as well). Not really sure about the rest of the team, I heard Dorrans dropped out the game a bit after the sending off. I seen wee Morelos's goal, seems like he is in the right place at the right time, I hope he is the goalscorer we have been looking for. Seen a wee bit of criticism of Herrera as well, think that's a bit unfair considering he is moving from a different continent to play football, give the guy a bit of time to settle and we will hopefully see the best of him. What does everyone think about transfers now, how many do we need. Its been quiet the last few weeks, not sure if there will be any more signings or do we think targets may have shifted since mark allen took over. I would still like to see us go for Naismith and Walker if possible and possibly another left back.
  16. I would rather get Morelos and Herrera a run out in the hope they could bag a couple of goals and get a wee bit of confidence flowing for Saturday, need them to start hitting the net
  17. They will try any underhand tactic to prevent it but it is inevitable, I honestly can't wait, would be an added bonus if we stopped their charge for 10 in a row, the meltdown would be a joy to behold.
  18. I'm really getting sick to death with it, it really taint's Scottish football as far as I'm concerned, can we not just talk about the football, instead we have all these reprobates constantly trying to drag our name through the mud. There must be something mentally wrong with them, I have no interest in celtic and won't even watch there games unless we are playing them, it consumes these people lives. We are now seen as the big bad evil in Scottish football by most teams, is that because of these constant negative stories that come out in the press about us, is it because we are the biggest club, I think its a bit of both but it really has been put in to overdrive this year. I can't imagine or would want rangers to run a constant deranged campaign like this. Can you imagine rangers fan groups ran campaigns like this to uncover some of the stuff that went on at Celtic park, its embarrassing, but is that what its going to come down to to put these fanny's back in their box. Someone quite rightly pointed out Scottish football is going to hate itself to death and these yahoo's are going to be the sole cause of it
  19. Great bit of business, need to kick on and get guys in now. For me Naismith and Walker would be ideal and seem like the likely candidates, both missing their teams games at the weekend. However Pedro has shown no real interest in Naismith. Would be interested to see if the new DoF has any ideas about players we could recruit he must have a load of players at city that would be suitable and being head of their academy I would imagine he would have a substantial list of youth players, there is a part of me that would love to take Roberts on loan from city just to get it right up they soap dodgin bastards, the meltdown would be off the scale
  20. Hahaha sorry mate, im just so glad the footy is back, looking forward to this season, if anything I think its going to be entertaining.
  21. Foderingham - 8 Hodson - 4 Cardoso - 7 Alves - 7 Wallace - 6 Jack - 7 Dorrans - 9 Candeias - 7 Windass - 7 Miller - 6 Herrera - 7 Subs : Tavernier - 5 Wilson - 5 Morelos - 5
  22. Afternoon guys, I can't wait till Wednesday and particularly Saturday already, its great having the footy back, and what a way to come back, we look like a different team, the game yesterday was really entertaining, although heart in the mouth stuff at times towards the end. Our transition from defense to attack is so quick now, we don't really hang on to it at the back, its about getting the ball back and getting it forward as quickly as possible. A lot of positives about the performance, some worries as well, but as Pedro mentioned, this team has only really been together for three weeks so it will take a wee bit of time for them all to gel and know each others traits, I don't think it will take long though, I thought we were pretty impressive and had that been last year we would have probably lost that game. Special mention to the ref though, how Moult and Heneghan stayed on the pitch I will never know, I think that was two elbows and a two footer from Moult and an elbow and a two footer from Heneghan, never mind though three points in the bag. On Foderingham, I thought he had a great game, bar the goal, he should have came out and cleared everyone out, he was coming off his line in the first half, not sure why he stayed for that one, however his save at the end more than made up for it. more than saved the two points for us. On the fullbacks, I thought Wallace looked back to his old self, charging forward offering support for the midfield, I thought he was great, again maybe bar the goal, I think he should have been closer to the crosser before the freekick was taken. Also chipped in with a great last ditch tackle. Still can't defend that great but I thought he offered more than he did last year. On the other side I thought wee hodson was pretty rank tbh, I know he hasen't played a lot of games, but I can't remember him doing anything of note, to me he looks a bit out his depth. Tavernier came on and was a bit more positive, couple of good crosses and a dig at goal, his concentration needs to be better though, for the save by fods at the end he wanders inbetween the center halfs and causes mayhem, got to say Jack got sucked in as well, I think fullback is an area we need to address but at the minute it is not vital. In the center half position I couldn't really have any complaints, Cardoso was out of position a couple of times and maybe wasen't aware what was going on behind him, but that is a very small complaint, I thought the two complimented each other very well, I think Bruno was told to stick to moult after he got the shot away at the back post, he won everything in the air and is a proper leader, Can't remember Wilson having much to do towards the end, think he will be a good back up this year. Really happy with how we have strengthened that position this year. In the midfield, again, no complaints from me, Thought Jack and Dorrans were industrious, knew where each other were, always showed for the ball, particularly Jack, if the center halfs had the ball he was always available for a pass to relieve pressure. What can you say about Dorrans, Man of the Match Performance, was everywhere in the midfield, will be a key player for us this year. Windass, it was a tale of two halves, great in the first half, was all over the place his run and shot off the post is more of what im expecting of him this year, although if he is a wee bit more aware and doesn't go for the glory, he has a square ball for Herrera to tap in, you can't blame him for going for it though. The second half though he disappeared, maybe expected with the amount of running he was doing in the first half. Wee Candias on the right was a good outlet, again, workrate was great, up and down the right all afternoon, drifted over to the left as well, his crossing was good we need to work on corners, apart from that, again no complaints. Up top I think both Herrera and Miller both had individual contributions but I don't think they look like a partnership, maybe they are just getting used to each other, im not sure it will work though, I think Herrera can play the target man, that's what he was signed for, I'm not sure Miller fits in to the role PC wants him to play though and I think he is getting frustrated by it. Big Herrera looks like a big unit but doesn't put himself about as much as I thought he would, he was quiet the first half but came on to more of a game the second half, good at holding up the ball and bringing others in to the game, he should be getting a header like that on target, but its his first game, he is allowed a bit of leeway, he will need time to adjust to the Scottish league, I also thought he looked as if he was always about one or two yards away from the position he should have been in, to far forward or back, again that will come as everyone gets used to each other. On Miller I know a lot of people feel like he is the scapegoat just now and I don't want it to come across like that. His awareness to get the header down to Dorrans was very intelligent but I'm afraid that's where it ends from me, this is the first time I felt he has noticeably been a yard slower, but his touch and passing was horrendous, he lost possession quite a lot which put us under pressure. He was dropping deeper as the game went on and it isolated Herrera up top on his own. Morelos came on with 7 minutes to go, I would like to have seen him get a bit longer, looks raw but positive going forward, would like to see him get minutes on Wednesday. On the whole not the best game from our point of view but really entertaining and 3 points in the bag. looking forward to this week
  23. whoever managed to get waggy punted for a million deserves a medal, that's an amazing amount of money for him. I would hope we can reinvest and get a proper goal scorer.
