  1. It was a football chat until you decided to throw your predictable tantrum and flaunt your surly offendedness. Btw "lighten up" has no association with being "enlightened".
  2. I think the answer is obvious .... every supporter knows implicitly that they know better than the people who own and run the club.
  3. Jeez, lighten up a bit Mr Precious. England, Scotland, Wales ..... who cares?
  4. Who cares!
  5. Club1872 is a total embarrassment but apparently some people still give them money for some meaningless pipe dream.
  6. Brilliant. This is the sort of petty mud-slinging that will definitely solve all our problems. Nice to see bridges being built.

I’ve suspected as much for a while now but do we actually have any evidence that that’s what has happened?
  8. Unlike Murray, who basically didn't have to listen to anyone, the current board does at least seem susceptible to supporter pressure. While they continue to make the mistake of not actively harvesting supporter opinion, on those occasions when the support gets particularly vocal the board does react, albeit never fast enough. I find myself wondering what "communication" actually looks like from the other side of the equation. I sometimes get the impression that the board is rather reluctant to engage openly because the directors don't particularly trust the support to interact in a measured and constructive manner. Frankly, while in no way condoning poor communication, some of the stuff I've read recently would only justify that view. I don't think the solution lies in simply criticising the board every time something goes wrong, especially when it involves the sort of wild mud-slinging we've all seen lately. What's missing is what's always been missing - a genuine supporters' organisation to gather and represent supporter views and to serve as a coherent bridge between club and support. And I think we also need to be honest ... every previous attempt to create supporter representation has either been a complete disaster or has been constructed on a confrontational basis rather than the constructive partnership we and the club actually need. After the Murray debacle and all that followed, it's hardly surprising that trust was in short supply but if we genuinely want to move things forward then it's time we, as well as the board, got our act together. For me, this should be one of the key priorities for club and supporters alike. It's time to abandon the archaic notions embodied in the RST and Club1872. The time has gone when our priority was to "keep an eye" on the board, whether by share ownership or media pressure. If supporters really want to contribute to the future development and direction of the club then we have to accept that constructive cooperation is the best way forward. I'm willing to bet that the directors would bite our hand off to get real supporter representation on the board if they felt it had genuine intent and could demonstrate true validity. Unfortunately, for too many fans, that would mean abandoning long held reactionary attitudes of blame and confrontation and is unlikely to happen any time soon. Which I feel is a great pity and a huge opportunity lost.
  9. If you can hang on for another 5 years or so I believe you might.
  10. I remember turning up on a rainy Saturday in 2014 and finding the club deck concourse littered with buckets to catch the water pouring through the roof. That really brought home to me the state of the club. Don't just ask if everything is perfect, ask yourself if we are making acceptable progress.

  12. They've little interest in learning anything that gets in the way of their own voices.
  13. It would be nice to believe that, had our financial realities been better explained to supporters, the torches and pitchforks might never have been mobilised. Unfortunately, years of careful observation concludes that the natural response of many to adversity is simply to ignore reality anyway and set off for the castle fully armed. Along with others, I've been saying for months that posting player sales or UCL money on the balance sheet is a long way from banking cash. Since there's clearly no appetite for funding the club from debt, those fans calling for greater spending on the first team are effectively spending pretendy money and ignoring every other call on the money we do have. Reality is of little interest to the usual suspects.

  15. 2-2 Great goal
  16. Now 1-2
  17. I think that was probably a mistake rather than any wish to limit who could see the interview.
  18. It was as much as I would ever expect ahead of an AGM. It will no doubt attract criticism but I think this interview was an excellent and timely gesture from Bennett and was conducted to send one message - they accept that communication has been poor and needs to improve. But don't get carried away thinking better communication will in itself cure every problem that comes along.
  19. I see your point but rather than referring to it as a pay wall, isn't the Rangers website precisely what most fans want - a platform for communication between club and the wider support. It's certainly where I go to avoid media bollocks
  20. No idea, can't see anything about this on the website, but I would assume not to be safe and arrange a VPN bypass
  21. Another big European game at Ibrox tonight and live coverage on RTV. Women's Champions League Rangers v Benfica KO 7.30pm
  22. Absolutely right. And much more still to do.
  23. It was ever thus. The one useful thing I've learned over a considerable period supporting Rangers is not to be too easily panicked and to try to avoid knee-jerk reactions to adversity. There's never a shortage of fans willing to do that for you.
  24. Yes, like so many before him.
  25. The only reason Morelos hasn't really featured this season is .... Morelos. How do you trust a player who knowingly lets you down? It's not as if he just arrived at Rangers.
