Perhaps the wider support isn’t so needy?

Wager all you like but unless you actually know anything about what the board did, you're just another punter whistling out your arse.

Paul Murray, an ex-iii corporate deal maker, described to me many years ago as a well-greased snake. Just about the last name I want to see in connection with Rangers but no surprise at all that he's the one mentioned alongside Ms Fox. People like Murray make our current directors look like benevolent heroes. -
With the best will in the world, I struggle to comment on what he doesn’t say. Although I do take your point.

You're right, it was a God awful thing to say, an act of pure stupidity. It was also a manager scrabbling around for something, anything to excuse his feckless players. The manager is only one part of this defeatist equation and the players take most of the responsibility. The idea that the team underperforms because the manager has the wrong response to a humiliating defeat is unacceptable, as are the idea that the players should hide behind our discontent with something GvB said.

That has to be the most pathetic, childish post I've read on here in a very long time. Given all that's happened recently, it just looks like a case of extreme petulance to whine and bleat like this. Show some composure and respect for God's sake.

And some will always just see what they want to see.

That really needed saying. Far too many fans are living in La La Land.

Yes but why spoil a good whine.

If only that was a tap you could turn on and off. The truth is that valuation when selling a company is usually based on multiples of EBITDA and, while football clubs cannot follow the usual basis of assessment, cash and debt will always be important factors. So if you're selling you want to be negotiating from as healthy a financial platform as possible. To be clear, I'm talking about valuation here .... any decision to buy Rangers will be made on financial and many other criteria. You might even speculate that a poorly performing company is a better buying prospect since it offers the best opportunity for growth and value improvement. The more I think about events of the last year, the more I could be convinced that some prominent shareholders are actively looking for an exit. My own experience is that this can take years or could be completed in months. Pure speculation of course, I could be miles wide of the truth, just adding up signs.

I'm beginning to suspect that there is much going on in the background and perhaps has been for longer than we think. It's pure speculation of course but this smells of corporate shenanigans. Taken with the Kyle Fox fiasco and the Ashley settlement, there's an inkling of clandestine activity to dispose of Rangers FC to entirely new owners, which is perhaps what is really irritating Mr King. If this is indeed what has been occupying our directors then it is understandable that open communications with the fanbase might be 'difficult'.

Is this what happens when someone passes beyond hysteria?

gpl predictions (image) Bluebear54's GPL 2022/23: Aberdeen vs Rangers [Postponed]

Aberdeen 1 Rangers 3 FGS - Colak Although, given the statement from Buckingham Palace today, it seems unlikely there will be any football next weekend. -
How quickly we forget. I knew absolutely nothing about Ryan Jack when he came to Rangers. The first things I learned were that he had been captain at Aberdeen and had been Rangers daft since boyhood but I has no idea what kind of player he was. He showed a little talent in his first season but spend so much time being red carded that it was impossible to see whether his recruitment was justified. Then Steven Gerrard arrived and Jack blossomed - at his peak I thought he was the best midfielder I'd seen at Rangers for many years. Gerrard more or less confirmed Jack as the first name on the team sheet. Last season the calf injury took over his playing career and it seems we'll likely not see his best again, which is a massive disappointment for Rangers and a tragedy for a player who is only 30 years old.
-
We really should have signed some of those instead.
-
I don't think he can be captain now ... but he should have been 3 years ago. In my opinion he was true captain material. Of the rest, only Tom Lawrence looks a serious option. Btw, where was our captain for the post-match interviews? Why was Ryan Jack put forward to speak to the media?

If that's true then what's the point of it with so many ST holders? -
It's the same malaise we saw under Gerrard last season before GvB arrived, the same loss of bottle we saw the season before 55 when they came back from mid-winter break and threw the title away. I honestly thought we were beyond that under GvB but obviously not. Is it just the manager?

Sorry to say this but hooking Tavernier is the best thing I've seen from GvB in weeks. -
Then he'll have to walk because I can't see this board getting rid of him anytime soon.

Half the team is just coasting, going through the (slow) motions, waiting for this to be over. Worryingly, our captain is one of them. They've already given up but GvB will no doubt continue to say he has "faith in these players". We are now a club in special measures. -
