  1. The St Johnstone game on 23rd December is now kicking off at 6pm.
  2. Sound reasoning indeed. An interesting observation.
  3. That group was piece of piss. ?
  4. "What a bunch of fannies.".
  5. I'd assume Itten will play central, with Aribo and Hagi either side...but who knows.
  6. Webo got sent off, Demba Ba asked the players to leave the pitch (I only mentioned Ba because I couldn't remember Webo's name - thoughts and prayers to Webo too, obviously).
  7. Why - they are a constant source of amusement!?
  8. Should be a good game tonight, I'm looking forward to it. It's be great to finish the group unbeaten but even better to finish top, so a win would be terrific. Mon The Rangers! ??
  9. Mentioning someone's skin colour, as a white man, is a truly despicable thing to do. I suspect the fourth official is in the KKK or a Romanian equivalent. I hope he receives suitable punishment (death penalty or life sentence) and that Demba Ba can recover from this unbelievably horrifying incident. Thoughts and prayers etc.
  10. Seems Romanians are being held to Western standards, in usage of their own terminology. A tad unfair.
  11. I agree with that. The English player market is ridiculously under-inflated. I just wondered why Morelos and this kid ended up in Finland - presumably Finnish clubs have a scouting network/links in Colombia.
  12. Zungu, Hagi and Itten definitely need game time. A win would be good though, so I'm hoping we don't see wholesale changes.
  13. I admit what happened in Paris was truly horrifying. Thoughts and prayers to all those affected.
  14. Political commentator, Calvin Robinson (whose grandparents were part of the Windrush generation), had this to say: "All due respect to him, but I don't agree with John Barnes on this one. Footballers should not be taking a knee to the divisive, toxic, political organisation that is Black Lives Matter. It's completely inappropriate."
  15. Maybe fans could sing Michael Jackson's Black Or White while the players take the knee. Or do some break dancing. Ultimately, supporters voices are drowned out in modern football and now some people even want us to take guidance in societal matters from a bunch of overpaid prima donnas. Whatever next!?
  16. It looks like gaspard is asking for D'Artagnan's opinion on the King/C1872 situation, @Bluedell.
  17. John Barnes was talking about the booing earlier this week and when the journalist said something like there's no way to punish people for booing, he responded something like I wish there was. It's my way or the highway, seemingly.
  18. It's good that sportsmen are around to educate the masses about what is political and what isn't. ?
  19. Did you say the same about DiCanio and far-right ideology when he saluted the Lazio fans (he stated at the time it's a Roman salute and not a Nazi salute)?
  20. No. I did ask you previously what alternative course of action the Millwall fans should have taken but you didn't respond (other than a later comment about a banner - which I doubt would make any difference). Your focus seems to mainly be on the booing but the focus should be on taking the knee and why it provoked such a response (I wouldn't boo it, just to clarify).
  21. Yes. I'd take all the poppy/remembrance stuff out of football too.
  22. We're there to support and assist the team playing a football match. If I wanted to support the BLM movement, I'd have attended their marches. I support anti-discrimination initiatives by not discriminating. It's a shame the same can't be said about the songs we've had to bin. Supporters - do what you're told. Players - guide us in the ways of the world.
  23. I was always under the impression it was a football match we were attending. Fans are told to keep politics, religion and the like out of it, so why can't the players? The main difference of opinion on taking the knee seems to be about whether it's a political act or not. In my opinion, all societal issues like this are political. That's why we're all here debating it.
  24. I have visited South Africa three times and can assure you things referred to as racist in the UK would be considered nothing of the sort there. And it's more like spaghetti junction than a one way street.
  25. It's interesting to note that financial crashes, as well as global pandemics, are racist. ? When someone says BAME communities are adversely affected, does that take into account the economic differences between the Indians in the UK and Afro-Caribbeans or the Chinese and the West Africans? Seems a bit simplistic to group them all together.
