  1. Perfectionists versus the rest, seems to be how it boils down. As CB says, the joy of football is in the ebb and flow. Take that away and it loses a major part of its appeal. Rugby and American football are both crap to watch and a main reason for that is their stop/start nature. A lot of things about modern football annoy me but if they bring in VAR up here, I think it might be the final straw.
  2. My brother's main team is Liverpool and he told me he is losing interest and VAR is a contributory factor.
  3. Do we have a Joe Fagan or a (gasp!) Kenny Dalglish around the place?
  4. The time taken to make decisions. Goal celebrations are impacted (a fair percentage of goals now go to VAR and you can see players and fans holding off). Some of the decisions are still contentious. The continuity/flow of football is what makes it the best sport to watch - that is negatively impacted by VAR. The usage is inconsistent. Mistakes are okay - we're humans, not robots.
  5. Article on VAR. It'd be interesting to know if the fans polled on it actually attend football or just watch it on TV. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55160134 I agree with Jose Mourinho... "We're going in a direction that's really bad for the beautiful game, the game that everybody fell in love with."
  6. I find it hard to get annoyed with this Rangers side. Which feels weird. Not at our best but could've scored a handful against a decent Belgian side. Not bad.
  7. Bit of an odd performance, overall. Kamara and Arfield played well. We could've scored 5 or 6, if their keeper wasn't so good. Another good night to be a Bear. SG's record in Europe is quite incredible!
  8. It'd be nice to finish top of the group. A continuation of our great defensive record, another good showing by our three man midfield and a Morelos goal would be magic. Congratulations to McGregor too!
  9. That is f*cking appalling from Pacific Quay.
  10. Club1872 need to get themselves sorted out, in terms of making clear their short, medium and long-term strategy, their structure and provide more transparency, if they want to encourage more Bears to sign up (I used to be a member but left about 3 years ago).
  11. This thread sums up why Rangers supporters might make a mess of fan ownership. Even when we agree questions need to be asked, we start disagreeing about whether those questions are being posed correctly. I'm even arguing with myself about all of this. ? King could've given us another couple of months enjoying football before announcing the offer FFS.
  12. I hope Milan absolutely annihilate them. ?
  13. It'll be interesting to see how this transpires. I doubt Club1872 will be able to raise £13m in the timeframe stated but stranger things have happened. I used to be a supporter of fan ownership but now I'm not so sure. However, I still believe supporters should have some say in certain aspects of how a club is run and as such, a 25% Club1872 shareholding might be a good thing.
  14. I would have thought the multiple videos posted online last night would be considered useful evidence. I'd like to see the GB going to more extreme lengths than they did last night. It was all a bit powder puff.
  15. I wonder if the Police will lose the evidence this time.
  16. Their next three league matches are at home, whereas we've got to go to Tannadice and have other away fixtures. We will doubtless have a blip at some point and 5 points isn't much of a gap this early in the season. Yesterday's result just gives us a better chance of winning a cup, as far as I'm concerned.
  17. Not sure what Gers main site you have visited but it definitely isn't the official one.
  18. I raised an objection about laughing at them during matches where they are losing. With regards to Lennon, Scottish football is better off without him, so I'm happy for him to go ASAP. Looking at the draw, Hibs look like the only side capable of beating us. We have to take this opportunity to win a trophy - silverware is a vital part of our progress.
  19. Do St Mirren play on plastic (I honestly can't remember)?
  20. There's a referendum to be arranged. No time to worry about the yahoo victims being oppressed by the Police.
  21. That's quite a few bus related incidents. ?
  22. Decet line-up. I presume Bassey will be playing in central defence?
