Coventry and QPR opted not to take a knee

Some are more equal than others... -
Where do all these fines go? One would hope they help fund grassroots football but one suspects they fund lavish dinners and first class flights for Uefa staff.

It's clear that Michael Stewart is a very bitter chap. Having said that, what kind of world are we living in when footballers insulting each other results in such a furore? Bunch of big jessies, honestly...

What's with Colombians ending up in Finland? -
Watching some of the tackles flying in, they'd be lucky to make it to 5-a-side, by full-time, nowadays.

Many benefit by these divisions and many more suffer, as a result. Taking the knee doesn't seem to be healing the divisions - quite the opposite. -

The modern day anti-racists operate similarly to racists, by basing everything on someone's skin colour. I suppose there's a lot of money to be made by dividing humans in this manner (books to be sold, courses to be run etc.) and also by promoting victimhood, which in turn creates additional income for the mental health brigade. -

The BBC article yesterday said booing at the next Millwall match would be 'catastrophic' for the club. Interesting... -

It came up first on a Google search - simple as that. Police brutality or negligence aren't restricted to certain races. -

From BBC: Over the past 10 years, 164 people have died in or following police custody in England and Wales, according to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) - the body responsible for police complaints. Death in custody is the term for anybody who dies while in the custody of the state - this could include while being detained by a police officer or while being held as a prisoner in a police station. Of the deaths in the last 10 years: 141 were white 13 were black 10 were from other minority ethnic groups -

What systematic racism is the taking the knee gesture actually fixing? In my opinion (and I'm not alone), identity politics increases racial division. -
I'm hoping for an inescapable abyss of misery and despair.

Winning in Poland and Dundee would be grand. I keep expecting the scum to turn a corner but they haven't so far. Here's hoping...

You want rich footballers to dictate what gestures are appropriate (at a football match) to football fans, many of whom are on low incomes? Bit snobbish. -

A couple of people I've spoken to said taking the knee should continue until racial discrimination has ended. In that case, it's here forever. -

With something so regimented, it's difficult to tell. Do you think John Terry genuinely feels strongly about it? Just the intention? The road to Hell is paved with good intentions. -
Jackson didn't say anything that hasn't already been said. Newspapers are generally hanging on the coattails of breaking news these days and this is no different.
-
If we need Jackson or the DR to make an informed opinion about anything, never mind Rangers, I'd think a lemmings-like approach might be required.

Although I agree, to an extent - what would you advise as an alternative course of action for football spectators who disapprove of the continuing gesture? Write to the FA? Write to Millwall FC? -
During these odd times, Rangers are playing well and giving many of us a real reason to smile. During these odd times, the situation at our rivals is giving many of us a real reason to smile. It's far too early to get carried away but things are finally starting to resemble the true pecking order. Our manager and players need to keep at it. WATP
