  1. I remember when we signed Mark Walters and I liked all the English guys who came up here and made us a much better team. I also remember being disgusted at the abuse he received at the Piggery - even as an 8 year old I found it unbelievable. Can anyone think of a more abhorrent and large-scale racist incident at a British sports ground (genuine question)? Over 30 years later, you can still see the look in some people's eyes when they learn you're a Rangers fan (here's a backwards, intolerant moron). A support as big as our will always have a few dafties but all signings are given a chance and welcomed enthusiastically, regardless of skin colour or ethnicity, in my experience. We have nothing to prove to our detractors.
  2. 'Knees up mother Brown' might be your answer if you ask a Liverpool fan. He seemed like a decent, down to Earth bloke in my limited knowledge of him.
  3. According to a quick Google search: "Tommy Docherty changed the kit again, switching to blue shorts and white socks, believing it made the club's colours more modern and distinctive, since no other major side used that combination.".
  4. As long as we're winning, I don't care if we have a squad full of Martians*. *no offence to Henrik Larsson
  5. Humza Yousaf agrees. If you say so. Sticks and stones...
  6. What makes you say that?
  7. A draw would be tolerable but we should always be beating the vermin on our home turf.
  8. You'd think being called a name is worse than being physically assaulted, reading that report. Strange old world.
  9. I'd go with Hagi, Roofe and Morelos up front. Gerrard will go with Kent, Morelos and Roofe.
  10. I have absolutely no doubt Kent will start on Saturday. Gerrard's post match interview certainly gave that impression. I don't agree with it but Kent tends to turn up for this fixture, so I won't be losing any sleep over it either.
  11. I don't think we've played particularly well for quite a few weeks. Points win leagues though, so no real complaint about it from me. The forwards could all do a bit better, other than Roofe. Hagi could improve his overall play (he seems to be on a different wavelength at times), Morelos needs to get his spark back (today's goal should help) and Kent needs to provide some kind of end product (an assist or a goal once in a while wouldn't hurt) . Saturday would be a great time for things to click better.
  12. It was certainly surprising - he was head and shoulders above the rest of the team today.
  13. I'll take run of the mill 2-0 wins for the rest of the season. ?
  14. I have a funny feeling about that. ?
  15. Morelos looked terrific when he came on against Hibs, albeit he should've scored. He didn't play the only match we've lost this season, at this same venue. Definite starter, for me.
  16. Remember in decades past, where games like this didn't seem to matter much in the grand scheme of things? Now, every game is huge, mainly due to the gap between the two big clubs and the rest. I would play Morelos, Roofe and Hagi in a front three, with Davis, Kamara and Aribo in midfield. I doubt Gerrard will drop Kent though. Mon The Rangers! ??
  17. Aye. I hope no one tries to Zoom call me from 3-5pm.
  18. I know a couple of Dundee Utd fans and was fully aware of this record (they tend to go on about it a bit).
  19. I'd say we have to start with our strongest available XI tomorrow. My big concern is the two matches at Tynecastle last season, where we lost in a similar manner, twice, in quick succession, against a rough'n'ready football side. We need to win tomorrow's match - simple as that.
  20. Jim Goodwin is a fud. I realise this comment isn't in keeping with the article or responses but I think it needed to be said.
  21. A fair percentage of penalties involve minimal or no contact and/or players over-dramatising it. Quite often, the defender sticks his leg out and the attacker successfully hurdles it but also dives, earning a penalty.
  22. I think either of them would've been soft penalties. Certain press outlets/journalists will always try to pick fault in any of our wins. The more bitter they become, the more we know we're getting back to where we belong.
  23. I read some news stories (usually not headlines, rather stuck in amongst the gossip columns and stories about parking fines) about several disgusting child predators working at Celtic Bhoys Club.
  24. Jim McLean was an old school football manager, who took a provincial club to a European final - a great achievement.
