He who laughs last...and all that.

Grief culture is complete. Minutes silences should only occur when the deceased played for or managed one of the clubs playing. I saw someone on social media saying that Diego "went too soon". That really sums up the hollow shite spouted nowadays. The guy was a terrific footballer but also abused substances most of his adult life.

I'd be very worried if Tav, Barisic or Roofe went in January.

Coventry and QPR opted not to take a knee

The word platitude sums it up. I see our players are wearing rainbow laces tomorrow. Another of society's ills fixed by footballers making a forced symbolic gesture. -
Because of the league we're in, it's inevitable players will want to move to more lucrative destinations. The good thing is we have some players who are playing well enough to bring in significant transfer fees (Kamara, Morelos, Barisic and Aribo immediately spring to mind). Given the last set of accounts, we're going to need to sell some of them, if not in January then in the Summer. I want players to do well at Rangers and to enjoy their time here, hopefully winning some silverware but I don't expect many to wish to settle here or to view it as good as it gets - Scottish football is a joke, thanks to the SFA/SPFL. Once we win our league back we can maybe focus on the future more than we've been able to recently. Kamara is a very clever player but he isn't irreplaceable.

I see the Millwall fans aren't popular after the booing today. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55111474 Former Coventry and Aston Villa striker Dion Dublin, who had a loan spell at Millwall in 2002, added: "They don't agree with taking the knee, which means they are racist. They don't agree with Black Lives Matter; that says they are racist to me.". -
You want people arrested for displaying an inoffensive (hilarious, in my opinion) banner outside a football stadium? I think the Police should let them run free outside the Piggery. ?

Perfectionists versus the rest, seems to be how it boils down. As CB says, the joy of football is in the ebb and flow. Take that away and it loses a major part of its appeal. Rugby and American football are both crap to watch and a main reason for that is their stop/start nature. A lot of things about modern football annoy me but if they bring in VAR up here, I think it might be the final straw.

My brother's main team is Liverpool and he told me he is losing interest and VAR is a contributory factor.

The time taken to make decisions. Goal celebrations are impacted (a fair percentage of goals now go to VAR and you can see players and fans holding off). Some of the decisions are still contentious. The continuity/flow of football is what makes it the best sport to watch - that is negatively impacted by VAR. The usage is inconsistent. Mistakes are okay - we're humans, not robots.

Article on VAR. It'd be interesting to know if the fans polled on it actually attend football or just watch it on TV. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55160134 I agree with Jose Mourinho... "We're going in a direction that's really bad for the beautiful game, the game that everybody fell in love with."
