  1. Can see Celtic becoming as disillusioned as Rangers with Kilmarnock letting every little detail become known to the media. Not exactly the most professional way to conduct transfer business. Malky
  2. Totally agree with that. Becoming captain of Celtic killed McStay as a player...turned him into the best sideways passing midfielder in Scotland. Same thing is happening to Barry...needs to lose the Billy Bigshot mentality and start getting back to what he does best. Malky
  3. So what does Smith have planned for Novo, Sionko, Darchville, Lowing etc if we're talking about right side cover?? Hell i'm sure a couple of our centre backs could do a shift at right back if required. Smith is still injured I think, Papac is not bad, Adam is wasted on the left, Murray is a liability and Beasley is going to be played as an out and out wide man i'd imagine. I'd say £1million was a good price for a current international left back. Malky
  4. Why spend £1.8 million on a position we already have covered by a Scottish internationist?? Alan Hutton came on leaps and bounds last season and I'd hope he'd develop furthur next season. I know Whittaker can play right midfield but we also have another Scottish internationalist in that position in Chris Burke. I would say the priority was on the other flank at left back. I see Gary Naysmith went to Sheffield Utd for £1 million as part of the Phil Jagielka (sp ) deal. Would like to have seen him come in as competition/cover for Stevie Smith. Malky
  5. Well if West Brom are will to spend over £1 million for Craig Beattie, and Killie are looking for £2 million for Naismith ( which allegedly a couple of teams are willing to pay ) then Boydy has to be in the £4million bracket. Malky
  6. Lets face it, besides his purple patch towards the end of his Rangers career and his Old Firm goals, Lovenkrands was a bit of an enigma. Another Buffel if you like. Had the talent, but was played out position, was injured alot and disappeared to often in games. There was points in his Rangers career i'm sure we all wished we could have seen the back of him. Malky
  7. Can't beat a night out in Ayr...Friday nights esp. Cheaper than a Sat so all the students are out...perfect for a perv lol head for the pubs round about the Club de Mar, is where the talent goes. Malky
  8. Well lets just say hes giving major hints as to what club he wants to join. Upto David Murray and Martin Bain to supply Walter with the funds to sign him now, something which may be dependent on couple of the current squad being shipped out. Personally I'd be seeing if Killie were interested in Nacho Novo as a makeweight. Malky
  9. The thing is, the guys still only 26 years old, got the peak years of his career ahead of him. If Walter can find him a settled position and give him a prolonged run in the team then I believe we'll see the best of him. Malky
  10. Uefa will be glad that England didn't get through to the final after all the bad blood between them and Serbia in their previous game. Though with the number of coloured players in the Dutch team, Serbia will have their work cut out keeping their racism in check. Malky
  11. I just wish David Murray would take a rope....tie it round his neck and dangle from his 'moonbeams of success'. If it wasn't for Mad Vlad taking Hearts 2 steps forward and 6 steps back we could have been the 3rd best team in Scotland 2 years running. Just wish the guy would show some transparancy but with Sir David it's all lies lies and smokescreens. Malky
  12. If this was going happen it would have gone through by now. Read someone on the forum said it have been done but they were going to wait till after the Gold Cup to announce it so he could concentrate playing in it. But lets face it, the Gold Cup isn't a major tournament and bigger deals than this have been annoucnced during European Championships and World Cups. Malky
  13. Would love to see McFadden and Gary Naysmith at Rangers...think they'd be fantastic additions to our squad. However I'm sure I read somewhere that Billy Davis and Derby County were interested in McFadden and were willing to pay £4million for him. Malky
  14. Believe it was discussed before they went on holiday. Were told not to expect any major signings to join them in pre season training as the club has no money to spend on players. Don't see how it's unprofessional of Durrant. Am sure the players are just as concerned as us fans about the lack of reinforcements and as 1st team coach he's likely to have more contact with the players than McCoist or Smith. Malky
  15. Yes the players are on holiday. But guy I know lives next door to a certain Rangers striker in Tarbolton. Been asked to keep an eye on his house while hes away on his hols. And said Rangers striker told him that Ian Durrant has informed the players that there is no money for players. Malky
  16. Well I trust my source 110% on this one....is basically straight from the Rangers dressing room. Malky
  17. Well I have it on very good authority that even the Rangers players are discussing the lack of activity that is going on at the moment. They have been told that the club have no money to spend on players and not to expect any major signings :-( Malky
  18. Definitely 4-4-2 for me. But i'd be playing a creative type forward player up front with Boyd...one who can drop back into the midfield area if required. Something akin to Man Utd and the position Wayne Rooney/Paul Scholes occupies for them. So next season - McGregor Hutton Weir Ugo/Broadfoot/Svennson Smith / back up LB New RW / Burke Ferguson Thomson / Hemdani New LW / Adam/ Gow Buffel / New attacking midfielder/foward Boyd / Darcheville Malky
  19. Whats annoying me is all the big noise activity seems to be on the other side of the city. Seems there heavily linked with 2 players from Serie A and this Appiah story is still hanging round. And then theres also Eidur Gudjohnsen getting linked to them. Malky
  20. A striker is only as good as the service he receives. Theres very few forward players these days who can dribble past 5 players and plant one into the top corner. Boyd has proven that given the service he will score goals...and lots of them. As I keep saying, the number of times its him thats first to the ball in a crowded area is phenomanal. If Walter can sign right and left wingers who can deliver decent balls into the penalty area, and a creative midfielder player who can play the killer through ball then Kris Boyd will get you 30+ goals a season. Sure he could maybe play more for the team, but sometimes the team should play to a players strengths...and Kris' are sticking the ball in the back of the net. Malky
  21. Hasn't done anything in yearssssssssssssssssss.....in fact since he left Liverpool first time round. Was a great striker back then but I believe he's finished at the top level now and he's not the kind of player we should be after. Malky
  22. As has been said previously, there will be a host of English clubs after him, and that being the case we have no chance of getting him. He's also at that stage in his career when I don't think a loan move will interest him. He may be a Rangers fan, having being pictured wearing a top a couple of times, but is that in the same way that Scott Brown and Robbie Fowler are Rangers fans??? Malky
  23. So is every PSV 'reject' getting linked with Rangers?? Malky
  24. What we need to be doing is improving our scouting network so that we can sign the very best of Scottish/British/European young talent before they reach the radar of most of the big clubs. The fact that Ewan Chester is now back in the set-up disappoints me as he didn't seem to spot much young talent first time around. Even if we have to pay a significant transfer fee to land an outstanding prospect eg Gio Van Bronckhosrt. With teams in the Premiership and Championship looking more and more to the SPL, the opportunity is there for us to take on a player for a season or 2 and then sell him on for a good profit. If we could make £2-3million profit on 1 player every couple of seasons that would provide you with funds to sign a few quality free transfers or bosmans. Malky
  25. I'm just wondering, in all this talk about Naismith, whether the lad himself feels insulted by the offer we put in for him and whether this could have a bearing on where he ends up. We all know that strikers have to have a certain arrogance and cockiness, despite the fact that Naismith seems a very down to earth lad. Therefore i'm thinking he has in his own head a value for what he's worth at least. And then for us to go in with what I feel was an insulting offer, is he likely to go 'sod them, if that's all they think i'm worth' ? Someone mentioned above that Killie won't deal with Celtic because they don't want to see Naismith just end up on the bench. Killie couldn't give a stuff where he ends up if they get £2 million for him. And they'd sure as hell rather deal with that kind of money than the offer we put in. Malky
