  1. Not that it will be news to anyone, but Tom Oirish has been on his twitter feed deliberately misrepresenting the claims made in The Times article. He thinks he is untouchable. Just waiting on Derek Ferguson or Kris Boyd or anyone else taking him to task on their next conflab show. Oops. I'll probably have fingernails longer than Howard Hughes by the time that ever comes to pass...
  2. Baron Reid of Cardowan, Brian Wilson, Damian McBride, Manus Fullerton, Frank Mulholland et al, wonder if these guys sleep easy at night? Silly boy. Of course they do.
  3. Let's see what Ross produces. I'd imagine it would be premature to expect too much from him for this coming window in January, but come next summer it'll be interesting to observe the level of progress that the club has been able to achieve. It'll also be interesting to note if recruitment centres on the Benelux nations going forward.
  4. As usual rumours are rife. Latest: he was strongly encouraged to explore other avenues due to a lack of movement out and recouping some misspent funds. He's off to Cardiff City is another.
  5. Without stoking the fires of rumour any further than they already have been elsewhere, it would seem that it's a toss up between going to Man Utd and underperforming with the signing policy. On the face of things it seems like a blow. It'll be interesting to see where the club turn to next after the dust settles.
  6. Addendum. 'one of the first results'? Would Aberdoom be the first? Am I getting carried away with the Lawman's affectionate anecdote? Can older bears set me straight - was/is Denis a bluenose first and foremost before United became his number one love?
  7. A hero obviously well before my time, but to have the only Scot to be voted European Footballer Of The Year confess to being a 'Ranger at heart' gladdens my heart, regardless of whether he said it decades ago or not.
  8. Agreed. If they want to go to San Antonio then they should go there and enjoy themselves. One thing I would say though is, be aware that there will be arseholes aplenty there who hate the sight of them and for that reason they should've been a bit more judicious about the amount of alcohol that was being consumed so they could protect themselves. Lesson learned I would think.
  9. The invective by Gordon and English on that programme on Sunday was Pravda-esque. When will Tony Hall get his act together? Oops, silly me, Ken McQuarrie continues to work him from the back.
  10. Just for the avoidance of doubt, I don't have a problem with Paul Murray per se. I have a problem with Paul Murray choosing to effectively grease the palms of people (who actively seek to do us harm) in the name of mutual benefit. Free advertising at a cost?
  11. What's more interesting is why Murray decided to air his opinions with the Rhecord. Did he wake up the other day and decide to pick up the phone to do Keech a favour? Has Dave asked him on the qt to chip in for a player and he's politely declined and then thought it best to appraise the fans that no big spend will be happening any time soon? Does he just want everyone to remember that he's still about? Granted, honourable tabloids are thin on the ground but to go to the Rhecord, home of 'courageous journalism' don't forget, once again??? Deary me...
  12. In one sir. I read the basic gist of this elsewhere today but the source was unattributed. I thought to myself, 'he's bound to have spoken to the Rhecord' and lo and behold, that's exactly what he has done. Regardless of how measured his comments are, the fact that PM chooses that rag as his conduit to the support beggars belief and shows how out of step he is with the mainstream support. This isn't fifteen or twenty years ago Paul ffs! Why not release a statement via Club1872? Missed opportunity if you ask me.
  13. I've just re-read this thread for the second time and can only conclude that certain posts are designed to get people to, indeed, 'bite'. I foolishly entertained it by relenting from my usual stance of just reading such threads by posting a reply - silly me. I shall cease and desist from encouraging such contrarian behaviour henceforth.
  14. A list? Facts? Wow! How about Harper Macleod carving up every large scale sporting event that is hosted in the city. Happy accident? I don't think. Swimming pools at secondary schools? I could go on.
  15. Cheers mate. I agree with the spirit of your comments. However, I reckon a lot of supporters who would potentially turn up are slightly put off by some of the perceived baggage that the VB or UB for example, have; rightly or wrongly. Club1872 maybe aren't the vehicle that some of us thought it could be, but I would envisage that some of our less politically motivated supporters would feel more inclined to support something en masse that they put their name to. Something for our supporter chiefs to chew over? A big protest akin to the Main Stand/Easdale/Sommers one in Jan '15 would send a message to the BBC in London never mind Glasgow.
  16. I turned up between 13:35 and 13:40 ( the earliest I could make it ) expecting some people to still be there. When did everyone depart?
  17. Had to log in to applaud that from Pete - bravo sir, bravo!
  18. Stuart Cosgrove and his double standards could be exposed if our hielan' and islan' run branch of the Ministry for (dis)Information had any interest in adhering to their own charter. But alas, there isn't a snowball's chance in hades of that occurring when ready-made 'stories' by way of sectarianism tidbits are in copious supply thanks to the recurring appearances of 'The Hag', Jeanette Findlay et al on any of their news and current affairs platforms. If Cosgrove isn't a staffer, god knows what he must invoice for in return for imbuing us with his intellectual pearls of wisdom across a range of subjects. Backscratching is paramount in media circles and PQ is a centre of excellence where that is concerned.
  19. Talk of 5million sovs. As you say Ian, that should make a dent in Kenny Campbell's bill for stealing the innocence from his teenage years for starters.
  20. Well said Neil. As previous posters have mentioned, Neil McCann is a true Ranger. Why is he not back at our place in some capacity?
  21. On the money Bill. Anyone who thinks warming up for an SCF with a friendly against Spurs U20s is adequate preparation is at worst a con man, at best someone way, way out of their depth.
  22. Here's hoping that this new channel has the same longevity as STV Glasgow. More cringeworthy parochialism wrapped up in a 'Scottish Six'. I wonder what horse-trading went on between Vlad the sex pest, Ken and Tony for that to be signed off? On second thoughts, I'd rather not.
