The CL is that guy, and we haven't changed for the better. We might...but we ain't there yet hoss. Now you can fake the funk, and call me a puss, or a loser, or whatever, but THAT dude (CL) is not going to change for the worse. We are an EL, ECL level contender. Hell, right now we aint even that. When I think we are at that CL level, I will call it. So the only thing gained from our EL final was the money? No heads (advertisers, signings) were raised? The increased global press coverage was of no benefit? Come on now.

I like to think I'm realistic. Thus the drag racing analogy. You can tweak, adjust, chip it, drop it, change the tires and take out the back seat...but it is what it is. We're runnin stock. Besides, a good run in the Europa League gains Rangers a lot more positive exposure than a short ass stompin in the CL. I will do ya one better. I think with a good transfer window we could win that Conference League. I would be damned proud of that too.

They want to present the illusion that they are not just catering to the big money players in football. However, when you have leagues where the 4th, 5th, 6th place (league table) qualifying squads have budgets exceeding the total value of many teams in the same tournament...it's unavoidable. At a certain point, you either have some crazy Cinderella story (Rangers...rare) or the money teams that just roll over everyone. Being the corporate, and bureaucratic whores they are, they would rather give the illusion that caters to a slim minority. As per in modern society I guess.

I understand the money angle of CL v EL, or ECL but we are just not geared for CL. Plus I loved that when we were in the EL there was always that..."We can take these guys" feeling in the air. I just don't get that feeling in CL. Not because of the ass whippins we took...but it's just like...not enough horse power. Like takin your stock Stang to the drag strip and lining up against a cammed Vette...just gonna get walked.
