  1. As the new season approaches, and everything off and on the field appear to stay the same (Groundhog Day for us Bears) and gets harder and harder to unearth new, imaginative Rangers related subjects to ââ?¬Ë?rant aboutââ?¬â?¢. You can only write so many words on the financial mismanagement of David Murray, on the woeful negotiation skills of Martin Bain, on the shambolic Rangers ââ?¬Ë?PRââ?¬â?¢ or on the mediaââ?¬â?¢s perpetual attacks on anything remotely linked to RFC. I would love to start the new season ranting about our new and exciting signings, but deep down, I think we all realise that none of our new players are truly exciting ââ?¬â?? they all look decent professionals who may (hopefully) improve our team, squad, results etc. I would love to wax lyrically about the rejuvenated Rangers squad, the new found hunger for success from our board who were pushing us in a new and exciting direction. However, as said above, weââ?¬â?¢ve all grown sick and tired and a tad disillusioned by Mr Moonbeam over the last 3-5 years. So, it looks like the opening rant of the season is yet another tale of woe emanating from our club. On Tuesday I waltzed along to Ibrox for the first home pre-season friendly and for the first time in my life, I was hit by the fact that how filthy Ibrox is. Now, I donââ?¬â?¢t mean that it just needs a lick of paint and we arenââ?¬â?¢t talking about ââ?¬Ë?shabbyââ?¬â?¢ here. Tardy doesnââ?¬â?¢t quite describe it either. Ibrox is absolutely filthy. The toilets are stinking (and not just of stale smoke), most of the seats in my area are covered in traces of food, drink and bird shit. The ground under the seats is covered in remnants of food and drink, chewing gum and God Knows what else. Now, having looked through some Rangers websites, this appears to ring true for throughout the stadium. Basically, Ibrox looks like it hasnââ?¬â?¢t been cleaned for sometime. We all pay a hefty price to go to Ibrox, be it through a season ticket or on a match by match basis and I think the least we can ask for is to watch the game from a clean seat, be able to place programmes and fanzines under our seats without them getting filthy and go to the toilet in comfort. This is just another tale of woe and another example of how our club is being run at the moment and nothing will change until we get rid of the current regime. Cammy F ââ?¬â?? 2. Faubert was carried off with a serious leg injury. Ha Ha!!! Looks like the Ibrox injury jinx didn't hear he changed his mind at the last minute. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/w/west_ham_utd/6904015.stm
  3. Will help new players settle in to life at Ibrox according to The Express... Link: http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/13484/Rangers
  4. Following meetings between the Trust, the club and the stadium singing sections it is generally felt by all that the match-day experience at Ibrox Stadium could be improved. As such, the Trust would like our members to contact us with any feedback or suggestions of improvement they may have. From the catering to displays to song suggestions ââ?¬â?? what would you like to see ââ?¬Ë?every other Saturdayââ?¬â?¢ at Ibrox? Please contact us through the RST website where upon we will liaise with the various singing sections and the club for further debate on how best to facilitate your recommended improvements. http://www.rangerssupporterstrust.co.uk/rstsite/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=126&Itemid=1
  5. I've highlighted a bit in bold. We may have signed 7 players but does anyone else agree with me that we have only really signed 3 potential first teamers? Obviously the 3 im talking about are Darcheville, Cuellar and Beasley, but the rest are going to be squad players. Now there isnt anything wrong with this as we need fine back up and good numbers but I still think we are crying out for at least 2 more players who will go straight into the first team. Maybe Gow will have a bit more to play as he is a vertisle player who can play in behind the strikers and I have a good feeling about him. But if we arent buying guys who are first pick then we arent improving IMO and we cant go into another season of being average after picking up no silverware in the last 2 seasons. Im not having a dig at Smith's buys here Im just saying in the up coming weeks we still need to buy 2 players who can make a difference.
  6. Don't know if I missed this when I was awol for a wee while, but not noticed it appear on here: Also Shinnie has signed a 3-year deal: Sorry if already posted.
  7. Taken from The Evening Times website..... I'd take him in a second. Great player.
  8. When does the team report back for pre-season training? It cant be far off as the league starts 4 weeks tomorrow. IIRC we are going to Germany for 3 games then play Ajax and Chelsea at Ibrox in that time. Then the CL qualifying games cant be far off aswell. But with everything just round the corner we must get 2 new first team players in to settle. I dont like the delaying of things at the moment as players have the incentive of CL football if we get them before the qualifiers, but should the diasterous thing happen of not making it through the qualifiers then none of our targets will want to come this summer. We have good numbers at the back but nothing steady for a long term partnership as Weir and Ugo are a combined age of 71 and Webster is still only on loan so Cuellar would be a huge boost.
  9. Anyone remember him from our game, i think he played in the first leg but not the second. the first leg we could not break down there defence so there is a positive. beasley was a good player but has faded away, lets hope he can get his career on track at Ibrox
  10. RST chairman Malcolm McNiven is pleased to announce three new appointments to the RST Board, namely, Jim Templeton, President of the Rangers Supporters Assembly and Chairman of the Rangers World-Wide Alliance, who will bring a wealth of experience to the RST, along with John MacMillan and John Donald both leading representatives of the Rangers Supporters Association. These steps further signal everyones willingness to work together for the betterment of Rangers Football Club. This is yet another landmark in the short history of the Trust. The RST has grown as a significant force in Scottish Football, and today's developments mean that by the start of the new season, 1 in 5 supporters at Ibrox will be represented by the RST. The RST will continue to strive towards having elected Supporter Representation on the Board of Directors at Rangers Football Club http://www.rangerssupporterstrust.co.uk/rstsite/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=123&Itemid=1
  11. Does anyone think that the ~£7M pounds we offered for the above will be spent on 'other targets'? Or do we believe that the net spend when the transfer window closes will stand, as it does now at ~£0 ???? If we do fail to sign anyone other than say the likes of Naismith and McCulloch will this be enough to tip the majority of fans over the edge? I would suggest not - not enough of those who turn up to Ibrox care enough to be honest. They'll happily go along and watch Rangers struggle to get 2nd in a two horse race and continue to await SDM to ride over the horizon on his white charger (are we allowed to say white charger in this post-sectarian country) and deliver his 'moon-beams of success'.... Cammy F
  12. Lets hopefully he will impress and we can sign him up on a permanent deal
  13. So following our 3 early signings (Darcheville, Broadfoot, Gow) we had a long spell of silence and silly rumours. Now in the space of a day or 2 we have 2 left (YES THATS LEFT) sided players arriving at Ibrox in Beasley and McCulloch - 2 good additions IMO. Beasley has pace and McCulloch is a solid midfielder who can score goals. Not only that Alan Gow can play left and of course Charlie Adam got double figures from that position last season. Behind them we have Steven Smith, Sasa Papac and Ian Murray for LB - so finally at last our left side, but more importantly our left midfield is sorted. - Now for the right hand side. Svensson has moved on which paves way for the possible signing of Cuellar and of course Andy Webster will be staying on either on. But after a lot of patience things are finally happening behind the scenes. What is notible is the amount of Scottish lads we can field: ______________McGregor_______________ Hutton_____Weir______Webster_____Smith Burke____Ferguson___Thomson____McCulloch ______________Gow____________________ __________________Boyd_______________ G Smith Murray Lowing Broadfoot Adam Lennon
  14. Still in for Faubert, Cuellar, McCulloch with Beasley supposedly signed and looking at a loan for Webster.

    Sionko

Libor Sionko remains keen to quit Rangers after expressing his frustration at the silent treatment he has received from Walter Smith. Following Smith's return to Ibrox as manager, Sionko appeared just three times for Rangers and claims he has only spoken to the former Scotland coach once. Though he has 12 months remaining on his contract, the Czech winger feels he will have to leave the club due to his relationship with Smith. "This is true," Sionko told the Daily Record when asked if he had hardly spoken to Smith. "I've only spoken to him once in all of this time, when I returned from national team duty after a friendly in Belgium. "He told me he had watched the game on television and that has been my only communication with the coach in six months. "These last six months have been really difficult for me and if this continues I'd prefer to change clubs. "If Mr Smith tells me he will give me a chance and he is counting on me, then I will stay. However, he has not given me this assurance, so it is better to switch clubs. "I don't believe my situation at Rangers will become better." Regarding his next club, Sionko admits there has been interest from several clubs in France. He added: "I know there has been interest from Paris Saint Germain, but that was in the winter. "St Etienne? I don't know if that is still valid and there have only been hints so far from Toulouse. I don't think there is much chance of him getting a game next season so it will be in everybody"s interest if he goes. To be honest i think Sionko could be the one that got away. I think that he may hit form and do a job for us. I guess we will never know.

    super cooper

/www.singaporedcmrsc.org/legend.htm He was the greatest of them all With wond'rous skills when on the ball The man they called The Magic Trooper The one and only Davie Cooper Began in Clydebank as a boy 'Destroy defences' was his ploy His tricks and skill amazed the team The man played football like a dream! At last to Ibrox Davie came His Destiny was football fame Jock Wallace signed him for us all 'Coop' had heard The Rangers Call And then for Scotland he did play To show the world the Auld Scots Way The ball was at the masters' feet The enemy soon felt the heat! The caps won were twenty two The pundits said this was too few A gentlemen with so much skill To watch this man was such a thrill! But now he's gone, his last game played We wish that Davie could have stayed No finer man graced Rangers' ranks For this we offer grateful thanks So if you are a football fan Lift up your glass to this great man We'll drink to Rangers' Super Trooper He's now Immortal - DAVIE COOPER
  17. Well that is English Clubs out of equation as he wants to stay in Scotland and i would say Celtic are out as well considering how many players they have got. So really it must be us and Hearts if there still intrested
  18. Always thought Maclean should have got a chance at Ibrox as he scores goals but Rae was the most average player ive ever seen in a Rangers shirt. And I thought Rae wanted a move to England, now he has ended up in Wales :fish:
  19. the silence is deafening from ibrox on the transfer scene. so bad that even the media have stopped speculating. walter has had plenty of time to survey the transfer market and target players but given the lack of activity i dont expect many more players to come through the doors at murray park.
  20. 3 categories: 1 from Ibrox, 1 from Hampden and 1 from Parkhead Tough tough tough choices Ibrox - The 3-1 NY game in 1997 when Bo Anderson came off the bench was a cracker, it pips the classic 3-3 in 1995. Id imagine the older posters will go for the 5-1 in 1988. Hampden - 3-1 to Gers in Octo 1994 with Hateley double and Laudrup solo - hands down this one for me - it was my first OF game so beats the 2 cup finals games. Parkhead - Has to be the 1-0 win in Nov 1996 with Laudrups goal. Same game as the famous Van Vossen miss, where Gazza missed a pen then Goram saved a Pierre Ploydonk pen in the last minute. That just pips the 3-0 win in 99 to clinch the league. That was the GFITW shame day when the tim fell from the 2nd tier and Dallas got about 3 quid in change for his bankie.
  21. Good news IMO, I think we could still see the best of him yet
  22. Would love him to come back, that was another mistake by Le Tit, by not keeping him
  23. he played good the last few months of the season. Well done big man
