Boyd agrees Boro move

Recommended Posts

Even after he's gone, people will still defend Boyd about absolutely everything

have you really thought about what you're posting?

if he went to celtic then we'd all be annoyed but he's away to a team down south that just happen to be managed by someone who was at celtic a few years ago and some ex celtic players.

he's gone good luck to him, i think he'll regret it but it's his choice, there really is nothing to defend IMO.

He'll be playing in a better league than the SPL (Danny already mentioned this).

If they gain promotion to the EPL, he'll be playing in one of the top 5 leagues in Europe.

He's close enough to home that his family can stay in Scotland and just visit regularly.

Boro could be a good stepping-stone for him if he scores a lot of goals.

It could make or break his career.

I'd bet that a good few of the Gers fans giving him abuse for this move didn't even want him to stay at Rangers.

He got dogs abuse while he was racking up goals for us and finishing SPL top scorer year after year.

Now he's getting abuse for going to Boro because it's a team managed by an x-celtic manager who didn't even like the Celtic fans, but has taken a few celtic players down there.

What's the point in being all hot and bothered about it when it's done and dusted? Boyd isn't a Rangers player any more, he's a Boro player and that's pretty much the end of it unless he comes back to Ibrox.

I was a big Boyd fan, have never been a WGS fan (far from it in fact, although he's quite funny at times), but I'm not bothered in the slightest by Boyd's move other than the fact that I'd rather he'd stayed here and signed a deal with us.

Anyone who thinks Boyd's move is disrespectful to Rangers is living in la la land IMO, but that's just an opinion and it's notable that Boyd stayed when most Gers fans thought he was off to Brum, after which, a season and a half passed by which seen us win 2 SPL titles with his undervalued help.

What about you yourself Johnny? Would you turn down £18,000 to play for your boyhood heroes if a former Celtic manager offered you £7000 more? I can't believe i'm actually having to defend myself for being pissed off at this. It is a completely understandable reaction to anyone who isn't Kris Boyd first, Rangers second

everyones different and you dont really know why he's gone. I wouldn't or would like to hope I wouldn't go for more money and don't understand why he has gone but he's been here a few years and is the SPLs top scorer maybe he needed a change but at least he can say he's played for his boyhood team for 4/5 years and been top scorer every year. not many players can say that can they? we'll miss him but he's gone and i don't care where to, we must move on why worry about where he has went to?

look at scott brown, meant to have swayed towards rangers when he was younger and at the last minute got more money from celtic so went there, money can easily change peoples mind and you don't know what it would do to you unless you have been in that position.........

Are you honestly saying that when Cuellar left us to join Aston Villa, the fact he was leaving Rangers to play under Martin O'Neill was totally irrelevant to you?

I don't expect the players to care, but the fans should imo

I never even gave that a 2nd thought. Now that you have mentioned Cuellar playing under MON at Aston Villa, I still couldn't care less.

By the way, I'd play for Celtic for 25k a week. Supporting my family is far more important than who I play for. Football is a game, it's entertainment, it's not a matter or life and death as Shankly once said.

Boydy and his family would've starved on that £18,000 a week 3 year contract right enough

Of course he/they wouldn't.

He wanted an even better standard of living for his family. Who wouldn't?

This whole clambering to totally justify Boyd joining a pish team full of ex Tims is slightly strange given the dogs abuse Barry Ferguson got for leaving to play for Graeme Souness

Like you I think Boyd has made the wrong decision in joining Boro. I'm not clambering in an attempt to justify why he did it, I'm simply trying saying that it doesn't bother me who he signs for, unlike you. I don't get what the big deal is about him joining a "pish team full of ex Tims".

I couldn't have cared if he signed for Juventus, Lyon, Valencia or Middlesboro.
