The ex-Chelsea and Barcelona striker had been tipped to make a shock loan move to the Scottish champions over the past week but Smith has all but booted the rumour out after speculation mounted over the course of the week. Gudjohnsen’s Ã?£40,000 per week wage demands are the reasoning for Smith admitting Rangers would not be interested in taking the player on loan: “We can’t look at the money he’s earning, so he won’t be coming to Ibrox.” The paper also states that David Goodwillie is a possible target for Rangers, with Andy Webster heading to Tannadice as a part of the deal after the defender’s successful loan spell with the club last season. Much like when we supposedly tried to sign Claudio Pizarro, but couldn't match his wage demands, despite the fact we would have clearly known we couldn't afford him in the first place.
