Statement regarding MediaHouse by the Rangers Supporters Association, Rangers Supporters Assembly and Rangers Supporters Trust.

The three organisations are saddened to hear of the return of MediaHouse to Ibrox. Particularly considering their spectacular failure to defend the reputation of the club and the fans during their previous tenure despite being specifically hired for that purpose.

Should the directors feel the need to employ an outside agency, over the head of the Director of Communications, to defend their personal positions in the current debate over the future direction of the club, then they should do so at their own expense.

Just when we thought Green & co and their mouthpiece cronies couldn't stoop any lower they come out with this.

Penny pinching over a £75k EGM and then hiring an extortionate PR rat the next day? That's unforgivable.

The end is nigh for these chancers.

I've been very surprised at how high profile Irvine has become, it's not how he normally works. You'd almost think it was deliberate, that he was diverting attention from something else.

That's a tactic which Green & co have used all along since they first darkened the door at Ibrox. They seem to be experts in subterfuge.

Irvine and Media House specialise in crisis management and in keeping people out of the media. It's curious, he could just be fucking up, but it would surprise me.

He wouldn't be the first of his ilk to believe his own publicity and end up flying too close to the sun,

It shows how incompetent the Board is...an official statement saying Irvine doesn't speak for the Club and a few days later they are hiring him.

It's ludicrous; if you put it in a script for a play no one would believe it.

No wonder Traynor and Mather seemed to having a heated exchange before the kick-off.

The penny has just dropped for me.

I bet Traynor said "Jack Irvine of Media House does not speak for this Club" in that previous statement because he KNEW that Green & co's current men on the board were going to give Irvine a contract to fight their PR battle against McColl & co. He knew they were going to do it, so he seized an opportunity to tell the supporters that Irvine doesn't speak for the Club, he speaks for Green & co and their men on the board. Many of us knew that anyway of course....

Undoubtedly, if the Directors have determined that is an appropriate expense; although that would seem to be highly debatable at best and an exercise in self-preservation at worst.

Be prepared to be shocked at other examples of what they have considered to be "appropriate expense" .

Excellent analysis, I am sure you are right.
