Ally and Walter have questions to answer with regards to their backing of Mather. A lot of our support are still backing Mather on the strength of this alone. It's getting beyond a joke now. Jack fucking Irvine getting a years contract? Did I read that correctly?

Why was he not defending us from the mhedia whilst we were paying him for the last few years then?

As I've always maintained whenever Media House were being criticised they are one of the best PR companies in the country, very well connected and professional. To judge how well a PR company do you must first see their brief and what they've been tasked with. The directors set the strategy and they execute it, ask the directors what they wanted them to do.

I think Walter and Ally probably share the opinion that Mather could do a decent job under different circumstances. Like Walter said, the board is completely dysfunctional. We have no chairman and a rag-tag crew of directors who all as individuals seem to think they're running the show. Easedale and Stockbridge have both been particularly dissruptive. I think Mathers inability to assert his authority will be his undoing. How can we expect him to do a good job of running the club when he can't even get a board of four other directors to toe the line?

They wanted us ripped to shreds every day in just about every paper and radio station?

The statement attributed to Mather via the club yesterday tells you what he's all about. It only causes confusion if on one hand, McColl and co are wanting him gone, and Ally/Walter are saying he's doing a good job. I'm starting to wish Ally would just say no comment when quizzed about board matters. Everyone thinks he's been a hero through all this, but he has to be aware just how much influence he has with the support. He backed both Whyte and Green to the hilt, and encouraged people to invest, and buy books, and look how that's turned out.

As far as I'm concerned, Mather is tainted by Greens shite, and he can take his million notes and get tae. Anyone sitting on that board that just approved a years contract for Whytes mouthpiece, is a disgrace.

Perhaps but when the PR company ceases to direct the narrative and it itself becomes the story then the game's a bogey.

I don't think many of the board ever gave it a second thought. We all have different priorities in life.

I've been very surprised at how high profile Irvine has become, it's not how he normally works. You'd almost think it was deliberate, that he was diverting attention from something else. Irvine and Media House specialise in crisis management and in keeping people out of the media. It's curious, he could just be fucking up, but it would surprise me.

McColl is going to be in the firing line, did he expect this, does he want this?

Mathers point of view, he must know the support will turn on him, why has he done this? He had a good bit of support from the fans, somebody pulling the strings probably.
