It's a reasonable strategy is it not; especially as they are not going to get rid of the master tactician and the biggest complaint seems to be the fare on the park.

I must say I can't wait to get down to Derby and then Hearts in the opener. MIller and Boyd, a fit again McLeod, a rejuvinated and motivated Law, Aird on the right Temps on the left, and Zaliukas at the back. I think it's exciting and should be much better than the tosh we've had to watch these last two seasons and nowhere further north east than Kirkaldy which is a huge bonus too.

Is that part of an application to join the Rangers media team?

If Mr.X landed on earth from Uranus and selected only your posts to read about affairs on and off field at Ibrox, he'd get the impression that things were hunkydory and looking good for the future.

Whilst opinions are to a degree subjective, would that be an accurate impression for Mr.X to form?

The original worry was how terrible we would be in the SPL. Now the real worry is if we will get there.

It will be interesting if we do get promotion to see how popular the board are when we're struggling to make the top 6.

I'm not sure I fancy our team's chances with the worst manager in world football v a young Hearts side with Levein behind them who is very decent domestically.

Why would that be the boards fault mate? They don't pick the team. No one has any idea what sort of budget the club can afford next summer so it's slightly premature to have the axes out for the board already. If the club can't afford to compete with Celtic then we can't afford it. It's as simple as that. If this board matched Celtics spending just to satisfy fans egos and it took us back to the brink again, how would people feel? We simply cannot live with Celtic financially, we haven't done for some time now.

With a decent manager this team would stroll to second place.

Of course that's nowhere near good enough but it's true.

With Ally most teams will fancy their chances.

Every team mate. In the last 2 years we have had some of Scotlands poorest teams coming out and taking games to us, passing us off the park, fancying their chances and even taking points off us.

The pressure will be on very early if we don't beat Hearts in the opener and Hibs in the league cup. Those games will give us a good measurement of where we are for the season.

I'm not so sure mate, both clubs are in utter turmoil, Hibs especially, i think we will beat both comfortably. Both have new untried managers too. Those 2 will struggle with the clubs who are every year first division clubs imo. We are going to run away with this but it obviously won't mean we will be ready for the SPL or that Ally has turned a corner managerially, it's just default. We have spent enough to ensure we gain promotion. Our test again will be in the domestic cups when we draw the Dundee Utds, Celtics and Aberdeens. The rest are cannon fodder.

It's a pretty safe bet we will have no money to spend. They also have failed to appoint any scouts and make the necessary coaching/management changes.

All I'm saying is the people who bizarrely back the board so staunchly will soon change their tune. We have a terrible squad.

But how is that the boards fault mate? They have backed Ally more than every other manager in the country. I'm at a loss how they can still fund his 'habit' when we are running at a loss. It's incredible support for a manager utterly out his depth. Perhaps that's a more justifiable and applicable crime. Backing a dead horse.

The boards backing of McCoist suits their short termism, if they really think that McCoist is the long term solution then surely you agree with those who think they are unfit for the purpose?
