Steve1872 4
Telegraph Sport can reveal that a principal objection was that Ashley had already been granted a degree of latitude to protect Sports Direct’s interests at Ibrox – the club’s merchandising is sold through the chain’s stores – but that it would be another matter entirely to permit him to control Rangers as well as Newcastle. A major fear was that Ashley might decide to flood Rangers with surplus Newcastle players. It was also agreed that Article 13 of the SFA Articles of Association had been constructed to allow a degree of latitude for the good of the game – but not an outright bid for control of one football club by a man who already owns another. The SFA has checked Ashley’s ambitions for Rangers. On past form, he will not allow that to become checkmate but Ashley now knows he cannot tramp over the legislators as easily as he did to his departed and defeated opponents on the Rangers board. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/rangers/11312737/Mike-Ashleys-bid-to-control-Rangers-blocked-by-SFA.html
Rangersitis 0
The SFA are a national association under UEFA. They have not disregarded anything but introduced a ruling which flies in the face of what UEFA permit.Pozzo owns clubs in Italy, Spain & England but the SFA say Ashley cannot own clubs in England & Scotland. As someone on RM pointed out the SFA could now find themselves involved in a very costly legal dispute with Ashley which they are unlikely to win.How could they prevent anyone from acquiring shares in a plc ? They can't prevent anyone from buying shares in a plc, and I haven't seen that mentioned other than by you. Again, what is the relevance? UEFA has it's own rules, and each national association have theirs. If UEFA wanted them all to adhere to their rules then there would be no need for any others.

Anchorman 0
I hope Ashley gives the SFA a red face for their arrogance, and has us playing in Europe in a couple of years as Champions. I reckon that is one for Santa mate. A few hours left.

I always enjoy reading the Newcastle boards articles who do like to post up the relevant regulations to further their opinions, no doubt the telegraph whom Ashley's people constantly give a bloody nose to will be along shortly with their anti Ashley take on matters. http://www.nufcblog.com/2014/11/29/uefa-rules-how-rangers-newcastle-can-compete-in-europe/
