The Summer Transfer Rumour Round-up Thread

Recommended Posts

The boy scored a hattrick for the English champions last year... Yet we still have people moaning on various forums.

What's the betting that if he had never scored a goal in his life and had never played above local pub team level but we payed millions for him then the same people would be happy.

I have been reading Robin van Persie for a while now but thought it was a lot of rubbish. It seems we are just behind Everton with the bookies. I can't see us getting anyway near the wage he would want unless he decides the project is worth taking a massive wage cut. I don't suppose he really needs the money at this stage in his career. Obviously Koeman may be an attraction to him going to Everton.

RvP ???? That would be simply unbelievable. Can't happen, surely not

No chance mate.

On 14 July 2015, Van Persie joined Turkish Süper Lig side Fenerbahçe on a three-year deal for a fee claimed by Fenerbahçe to be £3.84 million

Fenerbahçe want him off the wage bill, I don't think that is the problem. Wages at Everton or us is the biggest problem I see. Fenerbahçe do want rid of him as he has never settled in there.

Same as with Barton. Might not come for the money (of which he has plenty), but for silverware and a bit of glory. At Everton he will get a chance to play at the highest (well EPL) level and for a good wage, but with only an outside chance of glory and silverware - despite Leicester. I can't see this happening for us though ...

Keep dreaming

Van Persie signed for Fenerbahce in a £4.7m deal – and promptly picked up another £4m signing-on fee and wages of £240k-a-week.
