Celtic face yet another UEFA rap as fans fly Palestine flags

Anybody think they're so incredibly stupid they don't grasp this is an extremely volatile potentially life and death situation? Israeli security forces know it and they will be nothing like the plod in Glasgow and neither will Israelis who have suffered rocket attacks and much more.

Do you think many of them will go ahead with their ''support''?

Well that's the big question isn't it. Are they so stupid they fail to grasp this isn't some cool attention begging thing to do in a nation at war which Israel effectively is. Hamas has declared war on them and has pledged never to stop until not just every last Israeli is dead but every last Jew anywhere in the world.

That's heavy shit these grunts probably aren't even aware of. I mean if they actually are aware have they even thought about that? What are the Israelis supposed to do? Commit mass suicide to give them what they want? Because that's all that will stop it then they would simply move on to Jews globally and incidentally once they were wiped out these simple minded clowns would be next.

They have a saying in that part of the world, 'First the Saturday people then the Sunday people'

Do they have the capacity to comprehend what that means? The total idiots are supporting jihadists who don't give the proverbial flying about any Paletinians.

“First the Saturday people, then the Sunday people. Such graffiti can be found in Muslim neighborhoods in the Middle East. The ‘Saturday people’ are, of course, Jews, today nearly gone from Muslim lands.

Now the ‘Sunday people’ – Christians – are in the crosshairs, and they, too, are fleeing at an alarming rate. Both religions are unwelcome in Muslim-majority lands for reasons of Islamist ideology – the declaration of jihad, or holy war, against infidels.”

Celtic fans raise £25,000 for Palestine after UEFA charge

Celtic fans have raised almost £25,000 for the people of Palestine after UEFA charged the club for flying the country's flags at a match.

The club will be punished by UEFA after supporters unveiled Palestinian flags in the first leg of their Champions League play-off against Hapoel Be'er Sheva.

The governing body has opened disciplinary proceedings against the Scottish champions after fans flew the flags before and during the match against the champions of Israel at Celtic Park.

The charge against Celtic is over the display of an illicit banner under Art. 16 (2) of the UEFA Disicplinary Regulations. This case will be heard on September 22, after match day one of the Champions League group stage.

Fans of the club, as a result, have launched an online fundraising campaign in a bid to match any fine handed to Celtic and donate the cash to charities in Palestine.

A gofundme page set up to raise the cash had received almost £25,000 in donations by Monday morning, just 20 hours after it was set up.

The page reads: "At the Champions League match with Hapoel Be'er Sheva, the Green Brigade and fans throughout Celtic Park flew the flag for Palestine. This act of solidarity has earned Celtic respect and acclaim throughout the world.

"It has also attracted a disciplinary charge from UEFA, which deems the Palestinian flag to be an illicit banner. In response to this petty and politically partisan act by European football's governing body we are determined to make a positive contribution to the game and today launch a campaign to #matchthefineforpalestine."

The supporters plan to donate half of the cash raised to Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) and the other half to the Lajee Centre, a Palestinian children's centre in Aida Refugee Camp in Bethlehem.

MAP helps Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees and delivers health and medical care to those worst affected by conflict, occupation and displacement.

The charity has offices located in Beirut, Ramallah, Jerusalem and Gaza City, MAP responds rapidly in times of crisis, and works directly with communities on longer term health development.

Aida is one of 19 refugee camps in the West Bank and has for 66 years been home to Palestinians forcibly expelled from their homes in Hebron and Jerusalem.

The Lajee Centre offers an escape to the young people at the camp with various sport and activity programmes.

The original target of the fundraising page was £15,000 but has been increased to £30,000 after the massive response.

BBC Scotland's 15 minute lunchtime bulletin contained the £28,000 raised by Yahoos for Pallestinian charities, it was second item behind the tragedy played out on the beach at Aberdeen over the weekend.

On Saturday, both Cosgrove and Hugh MacDonald defended Sellik supporters' rights to free speech. Cosgrove extrapolated the argument thus : after Inderef2, will Rangers supporters be sanctioned for flying union flags? Both Stu' and Shug agreed UEFA's point was, "a nuanced argument"!!!!!

STV News bulletin did NOT report the item.

Ra Sellik have taken an allocation of 150 tickets for the away leg in Israel this Tuesday.

Oh, and BBC Scotland have also failed to report the Brazilian authorities issuing an arrest warrant for Sellik's long term UEFA protector, John Delaney. The Irish and European IOC Chair, Patrick Hickey was arrested for a several million quid Olympic ticket scam, he has implicated a further five of his own countrymen, including Delaney.

They are making a big assumption there.

When we played Hapoel Tel Aviv in 2007 apart from a few armed soldiers that you would expect on the streets, the police presence was noticeably less than at many other "European" venues where we have played in the past especially Spain, Slovakia, Italy, Germany and Greece.

However, the circumstances are different today and it's my guess that the Israeli Police will be there in significant force, possibly backed up by a military presence (perhaps off the streets in reserve) and that "zero tolerance" will mean just that.

Right to free speech: now, you do that almost 24/7 ... apart when you are told that it is restricted and accept that this is the case by buying a ticket and going to such an event. There are house rules in place everywhere in Britain (and all over the world). And sometimes these house rules are being enhanced if those wanting to participate in certain events such as European games have them in their stadia. Here the CLUB has failed to adhere to these rules, again, and has failed to stop people adhering to these rules. And it does not matter whether it is corrupt UEFA or someone else.

And rest assured, their demand of freedom of speech had come to an instant stop should an Israeli had said something to these "protesters" or when a Bluenose would say something to that mob on the street too.

As for the Union Jack, how mental is that then? You just have to look at the Scumhut week in and week out to see how tolerant the British society is with "free speech". Then again, to all of these trolls the Union Jack is obviously a symbol of intolerance and aggression. I would assume that should independence happens by, they will demand that the cross and colours of the flag of St. Andrew is being removed from the Union Jack too.

BBC Scotland? In certain sections it is more like BBCeltland these days.

BTW, should someone get arrested, there will be howls of anguish and calls for action from beyond the Clyde ... by the poor and oppressed who got a new martyr or two.
