Club Statement: Joey Barton suspended for three weeks

Recommended Posts

be amazed if he comes back from this. It'd be one thing if he'd been sent to train with the kids but told to stay away completely sounds like the end. Assumed he'd be back at work today but three weeks is surely gardening leave while the terms of Bexit (or Jexit?) are negotiated.

Might had been shorter, IMHO, had he not talked to Talksport a day after the ban. We shall see. What is important right now is that we keep on performing like Saturday, no matter how the media will spin this.

And without derailing this thread ... our admin over on the German board correctly remarked on this and the "Warburton not up for it" bedlam in the media: Rodgers managed to hit an all time Celtic low in Gibraltar, sneaked through against the Israelis and has been humbled by Barca. Not a comment here about his credentials. For bar Sunday, his side strolled through the Premiership thus far ... which is at worst to be expected, given his resources and the opposition. I take it that the media will dwell on this story for the next couple of days, keeping the minds of the readership away from more impending doom for the Hooped Horrors.

I'm really at odds as to what relevance Celtic and Brandan Rodger's have to do with a statement from Rangers about a Rangers player.

You have a constant need to be comparing us to them. It's unhealthy IMO :(

First - and totally unrelated - you have a nice following here.

Second, my health is fine, thanks. I love my club and have only contempt for them, but don't live any "hatred". If you and others don't want to think about them and the coverage they get, no problem. And no need to let me know this, as I know that.

Third, I will draw comparisons on the media coverage we and the Yahoos get, as it is imbalanced and partial. We see that the constant negativity being heaped upon us - starting from a bad defence, over Kranjcar being to slow, to Barton being essentially branded a maniac - is taking root with some and lead to rather bizarre opinions and debates. So pointing out what the media might intent here may wisen some folk up a little.

He's working his ticket out of Rangers, he talked the talk but couldn't walk the walk. Slagged off a slightly backward lad in Brown, who then made a complete fool out of him in their first meet on the pitch, there's no way back from that tbh.
