Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha linked with double swoop for Santos Laguna stars Jose Abella and Carlos Izquierdoz

Abella is a 23-year-old that plays as a right-back for Santos Laguna.

He has made more than 100 league appearances for the club since first making his debut in 2013.

The defender was part of Caixinha’s squad that won three titles during the Portuguese boss’ time at the club.

Abella has yet to play at a senior level for Mexico but has been involved with the Under-23 side.

Carlos Izquierdoz is a 28-year-old defender arrived at Santos Laguna in 2014 after five years with Argentinian side Lanus.

He also spent a season on loan at Argentinian third-tier side Atlanta in 2009-10.

Since his arrival in Mexico, Izquierdoz has made 100 league appearances and scored 12 goals.

And he was also a part of the squad that Caixinha led to title glory.

Pedro Caixinha plots shock move for Euro 2016 winner to head up Rangers revival

EURO 2016 winner Bruno Alves is the man Pedro Caixinha wants to head up his Rangers revival.

The tough-tackling centre-half, 35, helped Portugal become kings of Europe last year.*

Alves still has a year left on his Cagliari contract but Rangers are hoping the Italians will let him go on a free, although they would be prepared to pay a nominal fee.

With 89 caps, he has a wealth of experience and has claimed titles with Porto, Fenerbahce and Zenit St Petersburg.

Ibrox manager Caixinha has stated he wants “men” to come into his team and compete with Celtic next season, and no-nonsense countryman Alves certainly fits the bill.

Caixinha has tasked his agent, ex-Light Blues midfielder Pedro Mendes, with persuading his former international team-mate to move to Glasgow.

I know we'd probably all want younger players, but this would be a major coup to get him. He still an amazing player.

After the Pedro interview they are now plucking straws and hoping some are right so we think they are in the know. Some may be right but the most will be bullshit.

Raúl Ruidíaz -> https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/raul-ruidiaz/profil/spieler/129724 (On the German version of TM, he also holds the Croatian nationality.

1.69 m "tall" and has scored 13 goals in 25 games this season in the Mexican leagues. His overall stats don't look too bad either:

Just as a few facts thrown into the fray.

EDIT: Just noted that the article from Mexico actually say ... that we are interested in two Santos Laguna players, whereas Santos are interested in Ruidaz
