Rangers target Daniel Candeias opens door for Pedro Caixinha approach and says he's ready to talk.

The Benfica winger - who has just finished a loan spell in Turkey with Alanyaspor - says he is interested in speaking to Caixinha.

Rangers target Daniel Candeias has urged Pedro Caixinha to make his move.

The Benfica winger is looking to secure his future after spending the last three years out on loan to Nurnberg, Granada, Metz and Alanyaspor.

Candeias is understood to be available for £700,000 this summer and Rangers are among those chasing his services with Caixinha knowing the player well from their time together at Nacional.

Alanyaspor are also keen on a permanent deal but the right-sided playmaker, who has two years left on his deal at Benfica, spoke candidly on the interest from Ibrox to Portuguese newspaper Record.

Asked about a reunion with Caixinha, he said: “It’s always good to have your name linked to big clubs. I know the manager well, because we’ve worked together at Nacional, and if there’s interest we’ll talk.”

Candeias added: "I’m already 29 and I need stability, it’s very important for a player."

Should he join Caixinha's revolution at Rangers then Candeias would become the fourth Portuguese player to make the move so far this summer.

Earlier today central defender Fabio Cardoso penned a three-year deal while veteran defender Bruno Alves started the ball rolling on a busy spell of transfer at Ibrox last week.

Yesterday Candeias' Benfica pal Dalcio completed the paperwork on a year-long loan deal.

This is developing into a situation where one of the biggest questions will be who from last years team will get a spot this year. I can think of only one cert so far and that would be Foderingham.

Very possibly and i'm thinking we're going to have a strong bench to mix it up somewhat if required. Another thought is do we have any friendlies organised to get an idea of what the team will be because there is little time left. Just 22 days from now we will be playing the first Euro tie. The draw will be on the 19th just 12 days from now.

I suspect that Wallace will also be guaranteed his starting spot. Other than that you may be hard pushed to find anyone else.

I'm not so sure about Rossiter - I think the lad really does have the talent to play that DM role exceptionally well. But Pedro won't have seen anything of him yet. I guess, just like everyone else, he will have to prove himself again but the talent is certainly there and I think we badly missed him last season because in the fleeting appearances he had he never lost the ball, recycled it quickly and was constantly turning his head looking at where both team-mates and opponents were.

Niko I think you are right - we have already heard Pedro talk his praises so if he comes back fully fit and ready to go then I think he will be our creative link between midfield and strikers.

Garner...... Still prepared to give him a chance but needs to improve drastically and quickly - we need a prolific goalscorer and he hasn't as yet, at least not for us, proven to be so.

Can anyone remember such an overhaul? I don't think even the Souness revolution went this far in the first pre season.

Yes, though not in the top flight.

We had a massive overhaul when demoted and we had a massive overhaul when Warburton came in.
