Premier League transfer thread

Apparently Arsenal have agreed a fee of just over 28 million for Mahrez.

And Lyon Chairman has stated that Lacazette is in London for a medical with Arsenal too. Mahrez, Lacazette and possibly Mbappe ????

Mahrez is 50/50 for me. Outstanding in the year they won the league but disappointing last season. But may be a good option on the right side.

Off the park it looks like Jens Lehmann will be coming in as a first team coach which is a good move. Yes was a bit mad on the pitch sometimes but a few former players have said he was a total winner in the dressing room and demanded a lot which is exactly what Arsenal need. He is an invincible and will install more winning mentality. I could see him getting off the touchline and shouting at the players straight away.

Lacazette is a done deal, that's interesting. According to Gerard Houllier he could be similar to Ian Wright which would be outstanding for Arsenal.

Rooney to Everton looks like one which will go over the line. Like John Terry - fair play to Rooney if he goes there for footballing reasons. But still only 31 he could do 1-2 years there and still get a large pay day in the MLS at 33.

The paydays in the MLS aren't that big these days. Gerard was "only" getting paid $6 million a year which is just less than $120,000 a week. The money these days is in China.

Man City, Chelsea or Chinese teams.

Chinese rules have been tightened up so ridiculous transfer fees are likely to be a thing of the past.. Can't remember the exact detail but the Chinese FA basically said what ever you pay in transfer fees, you have to pay the same amount to grass roots or something like that..... So, if for example they paid £90 million, they would effectively end up with an outlay of £180 million.

Although, not sure if theres anything to stop them paying outrageous wages to out of contract players.

The transfer fee wouldn't be ridiculous though as he is in the last year of his contract. It is the wages that would be astronomical.
