The Summer 2018 Transfer Window Rumours and Deals

Recommended Posts

Regarding McGinn, I reckon Gerrard and McAllister will have been given a list of certain people who could become targets by the DoF and the scouts. The two of them will watch the odd game, and surely Sunday's too. Whether the like what they see is anyone's guess, but to assume that we throw 3m+ after a player from Scotland with one year of his contract remaining ... and thus bolster his club's coffers to thwart us next season, well ...

Should Windass jump ship, we have Arfield coming in for left midfield, Middleton as the left winger, Dodoo and Forrester will also be there. Murphy could move inside for a more central role. Central is also Dorrans' role, only that we played him far too deep. But in any case, Gerrard and McAllister will sure have a few people in mind themselves.

Agreed - I'd be amazed and disappointed if Gerrard isn't looking on a much broader front than Scottish football for the solution to Rangers' problems.

Given we won't be bringing in world beaters from Barcelona or Brechin, just as important as the recruitment is putting in place a footballing operation that can actually improve players quickly.

I'm sure we have an interest in McGinn but I doubt even playing for Gerrard would make much difference to his apparent preference to move south.

More problematic would be dealing with Hibs anyway who a) will ask too much and b) would do anything not to sell to us.

Its almost like they've done something similar in recent history.....

Almost as comical as the proposed transfer exclusive regards Rangers after McGinn is the Daily Record pundit video analysing the story with a double act that look like a modern day 'Laurel & Hardy'.

You have to see them (Liam Bryce and Jonny McFarlane) sat together to appreciate it

STEVEN GERRARD wants Swansea’s Scotland striker Oli McBurnie to be his first signing for Rangers.

Gerrard has made an opening bid of £4million for the hitman who starred in a loan spell for Barnsley.

And the new Ibrox chief hopes Swansea will accept the cash despite the Welsh club planning to offer McBurnie a contract extension.

McBurnie is a huge Rangers fan and the chance to join the Glasgow club will make the move virtually impossible to refuse.

Several clubs, including Leeds and Derby, wanted to take McBurnie in the summer.

But the Rangers move may have ended their hopes in a flash, with the lure of Gerrard - and his boyhood team - too much to resist.

Swansea could lose McBurnie for nothing if he sees out the last year of his current deal so a compromise figure should be agreed with Gerrard’s new team.

McBurnie kicked off his senior career at Bradford, making 15 league appearances between 2013 and 2015.

Following two loan spells at Chester, McBurnie signed for Swansea - but has been limited to just 16 Premier League outings.

The Scot has spent time on loan at Newport, Bristol City and - most recently - Barnsley, where he's scored nine goals in just 17 games.
