The Summer 2018 Transfer Window Rumours and Deals

Recommended Posts

Who knows what can swing these things but he's a born scouser and lifelong Liverpool fan. Maybe the lure of Gerrard will swing it. I doubt he would be so enamoured of Rodgers as Gerrard despite having been previously managed by him.

Flanagan has also endured off-pitch issues which have blackened his name and cast a shadow over his final months at Anfield.

Gerrard is seemingly keen to offer the carrot for his former team-mate to resurrect his career in an arena he will recognise for its traditions and huge passion.

Flanagan has not been able to recapture the heights of four years ago – not yet, at least – but he has pedigree and a serious work ethic.

Assuming his injury issues are behind him, Rangers could be about to seal their best deal yet for a player who won’t require a transfer fee.

Be very careful with bringing in players with 'baggage', in recent years it has rarely worked out.

No injuries all of last season. As for the off field thing it sounds like an isolated incident and obviously Gerrard already knows him very well.

From what I can see, he started 14 League and Cup games last season for Liverpool under 23s and Bolton (loan) in the Championship.

The positive being he started his spell at Bolton on the bench but after a month started getting a starting place and the team avoided relegation.

Bottomline, if SG (who knows the player) thinks he'll do a job, then he gets the benefit of the doubt.

... and as opposed to various chaps from beyond the Clyde, he pleaded guilty and suffered the consequences. Methinks the racist's case is still not been dealt with a year+ after being raised?
