He already failed miserably with us and his goal record across his career is extremely poor. Signing a striker with a poor goal record makes as much sense as signing a keeper that concedes tonnes of goals.

A striker doesn't need to score goals to be important to the team.

Lafferty has 78 goals in 343 games in his club career to date, a strike rate of 0.22 goals per game.  Mark Hately played 500 club goals and scored 182 goals for a strike rate of .036 goals per game.  Duncan Ferguson has 98 in 360, SR 0.27

Laff isn't a prolific scorer, but then again not all strikers are, they bring other things to the team...

He didn't fail. He made a reasonable contribution overall and scored some goals that were critical to our successes during that period.

But whatever his previous record, these attacks and this criticism AFTER we sign him is simply ridiculous. What's your objective? Do you think criticism before he even kicks a ball in anger will somehow improve his performances? Do you think Gerrard will suddenly decide to sell him again in response to your wisdom? What is it you want to achieve here ... other than promoting your own opinions? Try putting the club first.
