Many of them are a pain in the rear Pete. Idiots in front of my niece and I drinking bottles of MD2020 at the game. The ones that come out the cracks at Euro matches seem to mostly pissed and a nuisance. Especially in the family stand.

Pissed people, who are standing up, seem to create a better atmosphere.  I don't think there's any doubt there's more singing at our European matches.

 

I suppose we could stick to the Saturday library approach.

I totally agree that there should be a safe standing area for people who prefer to stand but where people pay good money for a seat to sit and watch the match they should sit down it is as simple as that.

As some stand up when an exciting moment occurs forcing others to stand up in order to see, I find this quite tiring for an old git like me, bobbing up and down ?.

Or they could just go to a music concert where hopefully there won't be too many people playing football.

I believe fan paticipation is essential at football matches (see Red Star Belgrade's home results in CL for reason). 

 

I believe fan participation is juvenile at music concerts (see people at Sex Pistols concerts for reason).  

 

The guy next to me on Thursday never said a word, never sang and never even clapped once.  I felt like tapping him to check if he was a mannequin. 

 

The best thing would be to make specific areas for people who want to stand, sing and have a laugh.  Everyone else already has the Copland Road Stand, Govan Stand and Main Stand, Enclosures and Club Deck anyway.

It doesn't make them less a supporter but should be able to not upset fans around them.

Some fans seem to want a silent stadium and no one to ever stand up.  Impossible to keep everyone happy.

 

It's a football match, not a night at the opera.
