The only thing I'm a bit gutted about are the number of gilt-edged opportunities we passed up to score a barrowload against a team like Benfica.

 

It's a pity that we didn't hold out for a win but anyone feeling too disappointed should just think back to Pedro and the hedge.

I am told, not from an unimpeachable source, mind, that the lad who knocked in the hat trick is an electrician, and only a part time footballer. Maybe they will sign him to maintain the disco lights.

Another small point , some of Steve Davis,s passing should have been framed and hung on the walls of the Tate gallery , they were that beautiful .
