18 months till his contract expires and I don’t see him renewing, I would hope that we are very open to selling Morelos.

But I would hope that that we are looking for a new striker too because Roofe will inevitably miss a lot of games and I’m not convinced Sakala and Itten are reliable enough in front of goal. I would love a poacher who can be relied on to consistently score goals, we are wasteful in front of goal and Celtic have better goal-scorers in their front line in my opinion.

How will you know any striker is reliable unless you actually play them on a regular basis?

2 largely unprovens and one really injury prone.

Maybe but by no means guaranteed, certainly if it still tight at the point of sale.

You want guarantees? 🤣

SG often played Roofe and Morelos in the same team, so that's nonsense.

I agree SG didn't take to Itten, though, simply because he didn't really like a traditional target-man in the way we played.

I agree, I think there is a player there, or at least one that can be used. I do see Itten fitting into GvB's system more. And, we're quite short up front, so I don't see why he wouldn't come back into the fold.

Yeah, he played Roofe in Kent`s place or as a right-sided attacker ... every now and then. Still, Morelos got the nod whether he was in-form or not. That`s the point.

As for other comments ... "unproven" is relative. If it refers to Scotland, that`s true but holds true for Defoe and Laudrup and whomever you chose who just signed up. Sakala has scored 1 goal in 3 games over in Belgium and Itten 38 in 63 in Switzerland.

Itten has not really been playing much recently for Gruther after starting initially. You have to wonder if a guy that cant get a game for the worst side in Germanys top flight (by some distance) is good enough for us. He has showed flashes of what he can do. I have also heard he struggled to settle in Glasgow on a personal level.

We knew the injury issues that came with Roofe when we bought him and he is a very good player, but as with Helander there is no point having quality players on the treatment table. We need them on the park.

I think we need to add Ryan Jack to that list - after this latest set back, thinking we require a replacement for him.

I believe Lundstram was brought in as a replacement of sorts but for me he doesn't fit into this team.  Not sure what his role is. He cant protect the back 4 like a Kamara or Davis (who is such a good footballer he can play anywhere in midfield), nor can he play as a 10 like a , Arfield, Hagi, Aribo. I just dont know what his role is. Jack is an ideal 6.

With the latest news on Roofe I'd be looking to get a striker in on loan in Jan or recall Itten if he is not playing. A bit pee'd off that a guy with a career history of injury problems has decided at 29 to go play international football for Jamaica but here we are.
