A backup striker from a Greek diddy team and a free from a

relegated championship side. Not the transfers I’d have hoped for but got to give these lads a chance to see what they can do.

Still think the manager deserves more financial backing from the board but if it’s not there it’s not there.

It is what it is.

It would seem obvious that like many clubs, we are working within tight financial constraints. Moreso now that the soft loans to be converted to shares has changed to interest bearing loans.

(And that UEFA financial rules are getting tighter)

We won't know for a while, if the new lads are going to be a success. Although, given availability, they may have to hit the proverbial ground running in the CL qualifiers.

Score the important goals there and they will resemble a 10/1 punt that came in !

Not at all what I was hoping for at this stage of the window, but there is plenty time to bring in bigger signings. Aribo will be very hard to replace.

FWIW, I don't doubt that Lawrence is a coup on a free and Colak decent value at £2m. I just had high expectations of the calibre of player we’d be going for after making the EL final and with high profile exits likely.

We aren't going to be able to get a 10M+ valued player to replace Aribo.

However, give Lowry a chance and he MAY be worth more than 10M by the end of the year.

The profile is similarly an issue, for me; 28/29-year-olds don't represent much sell-on value, if any.

It's the reverse of signing Kamara, Aribo, Bassey, Hagi, etc.

We talk about a player trading model and are now taking baby steps towards it.

Our direct rivals actually have one that has functioned fairly well for some years.

FWIW I've heard we will announce another singing early next week (probably on loan) and once Aribos deal has been concluded /completed, we'll announce another singing. No names given / mentioned at this time.

Guy who told me was same guy who told me 2 players in Manchester for medical/signing talks earlier this week.
