Not official but it was fairly widely discussed at the time.

As you said yourself, signing-on fee plus agents fee, etc

The outlay isn't just the development fee.

A Bosman doesn't usually come free either

Lundstram will have got a fair wedge at the outset.

For sure, I just dont recall that detail and it doesn't seem to be common knowledge as these things tend to be mentioned.

For as long as players like Jack or Roofe or Helander are still at Rangers, it's important they are not pilloried by the support for being injured. They wouldn't choose to be injured and all of them will play their part this season, just probably not as often as we would like. Kemar Roofe will still score vital goals and win key matches. Ryan Jack will still be the best midfield talent at the club.

Doesn’t matter if they choose to be injured or not. If they can’t play they won’t win us many matches.

Injuries are part of football and why it is about a squad.

However, if a club puts together a squad that contains too many players who 'need managed', either because of chronic injury or age then they are increasing risk.

We are no stranger to this policy as a relatively cheap alternative to bring in quality....but risky and almost rules out sell on value.

Very true, risk mitigation is a big part of any business and football is no different. To be less reliant on a player who has a history or injuries is a good thing. We have the luxury of being able to sign players like Colak and Lawrence to support our squad.
