Back in the day, I got way to involved in all things Rangers. From writing in a fanzine, going home and away (domestically and Europe) and this lead to me starting to take an interest on off-field matters. The day I (and others) were spat on, verbally abused and chased from the main entrance for daring to protest against Sir Duped, was the 2nd worst day in my Rangers supporting life. The worst was a day later when Sir Duped pubically praised those who chased the protesters. Thankfully, I then had my kids and my priorities changed. I still cared passionately about Rangers, but I let all the other stuff slide. However, over last year or so, I've been keeping an eye on the current board, and have to say I'm as worried now as I was when Sir Duped was in charge. I was correct all those years ago, I just hope I'm wrong this time. It was a disgrace but it did serve to expose the catastrophic inability of many Rangers fans to think for themselves. Yip, 100% agree and believe they have been given grace from criticism for putting their money in. It did, and I like to think those who protested against the spivs may have taken some inspiration from those who protested against Murray. Whilst it's incumbent that we keep an eye on the Boardroom I'm reluctant to compare what we have now to the Murray regime. For starters they're playing with their own money not the banks, there is no one with an overwhelming dominating shareholding, they are in the main Rangers fans and contrary to what people think they actually get it. They won't take us down the same road as Murray and we should at least thank them for that. I was way to late to start questioning Murray, it took the spunking of £12m (of someone else's money naturally) before I realised it was only going to end one way. I totally get where you're coming from and don't dispute that concern is genuinely held. If many supporters expect a new manager to come in and do better than Gio with no additional funds or backing.
